92' 525i problems20 Jul 2005 18:14 GMT1
I'm just helping a friend out that isn't internet savvy. He owns a 1992 BMW
525i. Apparently the engine shuts off at idle, mostly but not always at
operating temperature. It happens mostly when pulling away from a stop. He
has checked the codes and replaced the airflow sensor and ...
Hard Starting20 Jul 2005 15:43 GMT3
I have a 1988 BMW  325ic. When I first start it in the morning it takes
about 6-8 seconds of cranking before the engine turns over and starts. If I
shut it down an restart it in a few minutes it works fine. If I leave it
off for an hour or so it takes 6-8 seconds of cranking ...
Headlight for 740i20 Jul 2005 13:20 GMT5
Is there anything special about headlights for this car (1998)? Do I have to
get my pocket picked at the BMW dealership or can I get one at any auto
parts store?
E36 - "Excessive" play in steering20 Jul 2005 12:03 GMT13
I spent the better part of yesterday looking over a 93 325IS that a
friend is considering purchasing.
The only real issue I found with it was "excessive" steering wheel play.
We could move the wheel almost a full inch with no change in the orientation

Fog Lamps19 Jul 2005 17:00 GMT2
I am looking for a set of Fog Lamps for a 2001 525i BMW.  They are NOT the
square design such as on the 2000 525i.  These are oval shaped lights with a
half moon cover retainer on one side with 2 tabs for mounting in the bumper
cover.  Does anybody know where I can find such an ...

Question re Fire Extinguishers18 Jul 2005 07:14 GMT5
It is my understanding that BMW does not factory-fit fire extinguishers
to ANY of its models. They are dealer-fit only.
I understand extinguishers are not a legal requirement in some
countries (like Germany).

Dealer fit extras after car purchase?17 Jul 2005 07:15 GMT3
I'm about to buy a BMW and it has a few things missing that I would have
liked to have been fitted.
Can the dealer fit optional extras to an existing car?  Things like heated
seats, darkened glass, lumbar support?
525i Door Problem...17 Jul 2005 03:08 GMT1
The cable in my '92 525i broke several months ago and I had a car shop
replace it with a BMW part (they service BMW's regularly). For some reason
though, the door randomly will not open from the inside. I have taken it
back in several times, but they tell me there is nothing to ...

Rough idle on '90 BMW 735il16 Jul 2005 12:41 GMT1
I have a 1990 BMW 735il, and it has recently developed a rough idle
problem. If the car is cold it will idle just fine - for a minute or
two. Then the idle will become very rough, requiring me to give it gas
(sometimes quite a bit) to keep the engine running. Moreover, the car
