E36 Suspension31 Aug 2005 17:02 GMT2
Hi, quick question about shocks. My 98 318ti has the mtec suspension and has
covered about 54k miles. I'm starting to think the car doesn't take corners
like it used to and is a bit "wooly". Is this a reasonable time frame for
the shocks to require replacement or is it just my ...

Brake rotor - 95 325I30 Aug 2005 22:43 GMT15
My college-age son (Austin, Texas) needs rotors replaced on
his 95 325I, and doesn't want to spend $400.  (Pads were
replaced a few months ago, and he put off spending on the
rotors.)  I'm handy with tools, pretty mechanical, and have
BMW feels good when the belly is full?30 Aug 2005 21:15 GMT9
I usually wait till the tank gets near empty so that I can reduce the
number of trips to the gas station. I pull in to the gas station, fill
'er up and get back on the road. Pretty mundane story, except that the
car drives smoother with a full tank. Now, it wasn't riding rough ...

My 1995 325i 5speed has a noisy VANOS.  It has the classic "marbles in a
can" sound which I understand perfectly describes this condition, but
about which I am unable to turn much up.
I'm wondering if anyone else here has run into this problem, and if so,
Series 7 repair manuals (E38)30 Aug 2005 12:20 GMT4
Other than the CD parts and repair guides aimed at the true professional
mechanic, I have found nothing.
Anyone have any secret knowledge of something that is available for the mere
owner with only a basic knowledge and rudimentary toolkit?

330Ci - time for tires...30 Aug 2005 02:54 GMT10
I have 2002 330Ci with sport pkg.  Ran over a screw & the very slow leak in
my RR tire is becoming a very fast leak. Have about 24k on the tires & could
probably get another 10k out of them, but I've had this tire repaired twice
& it's still leaking so I'm thinking about ...
