WTD: (UK) E36 Touring31 Oct 2005 23:20 GMT1
I'm after a mechanically sound E36 touring. Prefer M50 engined 2.0 or 2.5
with manual transmission but other engines considered, even maybe a diesel.
Aircon/leather would be good too.
Very high mileage (200k miles+) or no service history is *not* a problem,
Clutch Master Cylinder on 93 325i31 Oct 2005 23:13 GMT2
Has anyone replaced the subject cylinder?
Any tips to make the job easier.  It seems very difficult to reach
especially the end that connects to the hydraulic line leading to the
engine compartment.

Whining differential on a 1992 320i (E36)31 Oct 2005 19:34 GMT3
It seems I am getting the typical differential whine due to age on a
1992 BMW 320i.  The noise is coming from the back and is only slightly
dependent on speed.  My question to the group is, could it be something
else, bearings?
735i Overheating problem31 Oct 2005 19:25 GMT10
Just purchased a used BMW 91 735i. Immediately changed the heater core
because of overheating problems. The car ran fine for almost exactly 1
week. Checked the coolant level and needed to add 1 gallon of
antifreeze after week 1. Six days later, the same thing. Eventually,

Stiff Steering (e32)31 Oct 2005 04:29 GMT7
A weird thing has happened to me twice in the past month.  Oddly; both happened
as I was pulling into the same parking lot of the local store...
The symptoms are that the steering becomes very "hard" but jerky hard -- as if
the power steering pump were slipping -- but the belt is ...

What are your opinions on the SPORT package for the 5 series (looking at a
2006 model).   Is it worth it?  Does it make the ride rough?
M50 oil consumption29 Oct 2005 21:57 GMT3
My '92 525 touring is currently using about a litre of oil per 2000
miles of motorway driving, does this sound reasonable? 176k miles,
manual, no sign of oil leaks at all.

It used to be that she could unlock the trunk and all other doors
would unlock. NOw that stopped too. Any ideas?

Puncture Repair on 19" 's?29 Oct 2005 10:19 GMT12
I've just found a nail in the rear tyre on my 2004 M3 fitted with 19"
wheels, pressure is going slowly, 48 hours and lost 5-6 psi, but the nail is
still in.
A quote from BMW for tyres is £200 each + VAT and fitting, £484 total.
