| Whining differential on a 1992 320i (E36) | 31 Oct 2005 19:34 GMT | 3 |

A weird thing has happened to me twice in the past month. Oddly; both happened as I was pulling into the same parking lot of the local store... The symptoms are that the steering becomes very "hard" but jerky hard -- as if the power steering pump were slipping -- but the belt is ...

| M50 oil consumption | 29 Oct 2005 21:57 GMT | 3 |
My '92 525 touring is currently using about a litre of oil per 2000 miles of motorway driving, does this sound reasonable? 176k miles, manual, no sign of oil leaks at all.

I've just found a nail in the rear tyre on my 2004 M3 fitted with 19" wheels, pressure is going slowly, 48 hours and lost 5-6 psi, but the nail is still in. A quote from BMW for tyres is £200 each + VAT and fitting, £484 total.
