Would a UK-spec E36 320i Touring from 1995 be fitted with an M50TU or M52
engine? Can I tell from just the engine number (which I have)?

Car is a 1995 E34 BMW 5-series (M5).
I noticed yesterday that if I use the LEFT indicator (turn signal), then
both sets of indicators flash (i.e., it looks as if the hazard warning
switch has been used).

I was wondering: After cold starting, Steptronic-equipped BMWs tend to
hang on to gears for the first few minutes to rapidly warm the
engine/cats/etc. My previous 2 Steptronic-equipped ones (E39/E46)
certainly did this, and my current E83 does this as well.

Symptoms:
Left rear, right front and rear running lights are out.
Instrument panel lights (the ones that illuminate your speedometer,
etc) also do not come on when the headlights are turned on.

there now are the alloy ones (aluminum) and that is what is specified in
the BMW ETK. But when I look for parts many different places online it

Does anyone know were I can find a cord to connect my Dell DJ to the aux
input jack that is located in the arm rest.
Seems that it should be a USB to Audio jack, But I cant find one.

I have a 328i, 1995 model with Nikasil block. According to BMW South Africa
it is fitted with a different thermostat which causes higher combustion
temerature and therefore eliminated the need to worry about sulphuric acid
forming and eating away the Nikasil coating.

Sometimes when I start the car it idles up to about 1200RPM, and then slowly
comes dow to about 1k where it seems to run, but most of the time it
struggles around 500-800 RPM until it has run for 15 or thirty seconds,

I am buying a new series and have a choice of the SMG or Steptronic. They
look to have the same functions (i.e. automatic or manual) except SMG also
comes with paddle shifters. Opinions on which to get?
