I have an 520SE UK model E39, so no DSP like you lucky US owners. The system
sounds reasonable but I would like better bass response. Has anyone had any
experience with replacement speakers. Would doing this improve the bass? Is

Hi everyone I have what I think is a problem on a 5 speed '90 535i.
On occassion when I start off after being stopped there is a loud bang
and the shifter is thrown out of first. This happens as I am letting
the clutch out.

I know I can get this from my dealer, but what I really want is an on-line
source for recalls. To be more specific, I want to find out what recall
issues regarding my M3 (2001) have been successfully remedied. Is there such
a place in the internet that Joe Average can access? ...

My door actuator isn't unlocking the door -- I opened hte door up & the frame
that holds hte actuator is broken.  I cannot buy just the frame from the dealer
and they want 250+ for a new actuator.
Anyone have a parts car or spare bits or dead actuator they want to sell?

The washer for the front windshield just stopped working half way
between Detroit and Chicago on my 02 X5. The res. is full and the rear
still works although the headlight washers stopped too. On my way back
