BMW E30 1990 strange engine poblems...18 Nov 2005 18:54 GMT6
my BMW e30 316 from 1990 has a strange problem:
when changing gear and giving it about half throttle, the engine sometimes
stalls for a very short time (about a tenth of a second). It is so bad it
feels as if the pistons got stuck. Apart form taht the engine is fine, does
E30 316i manual box, stuck in reverse gear18 Nov 2005 18:08 GMT3
My friend's E30 316i 5sp manual is apparently stuck in reverse. He says it
doesn't look like an external linkage problem. It went into reverse with no
nasty noises, but just won't come out again. Is there any common causes for
this?
E39 - factory-fit phone system / armrest question18 Nov 2005 13:36 GMT4
An E39 I went to look at yesterday (2001 model) has a built-in phone
system - the armrest has a built-in cradle into which a specific model
of motorola phone can be placed. It is of no interest to me:

fan dead - final stage resistor17 Nov 2005 21:30 GMT11
I have a 97 BMW 528 and the interior fan has died.
A little browsing on the newsgroups suggests a popular cause is the
final stage resistor, and I have found some pics of where it is
located in the car.

I'll never sell17 Nov 2005 01:46 GMT19
Latest issue of Roundel has several almost NEW bmw's for sale.  I just
don't get this.  Why, except for special circumstances (lost job etc.or
an outright nightmare lemon) would anyone sell one of these cars,
especially when they just purchased in the last two months, or so, or
Gateway Tech 2006 - St. Louis - BMW Electronics16 Nov 2005 23:55 GMT1
The St. Louis BMW Club is holding a national BMW event here in March of
2006.  I'm in charge of finding vendors to do presentations to the
attendees (we're expecting between 250 and 500 people for the 4-day

Questions after the mechanic called.... (92 e32)16 Nov 2005 23:53 GMT4
I dropped off many parts at my mechanic of choice, and left the bmw there.
He looked in the trunk and said "All that?" "yes please".
In the process of doing everything, we discovered that it was all needed,
and I wasn't going "overboard", and discovered a few other things along

Ultimate radio reception in an e4616 Nov 2005 19:51 GMT19
Hi guys, I've been thinking about getting an MP3-capable HU to replace
the Business CD unit in my 2000 323i.  I'm on the road in the boonies a
lot, and there are a few radio stations I really like in fringe areas,
especially during football season.  If I do this, I'd like to get a
1995 525i question16 Nov 2005 17:40 GMT1
My fiance's 1995 525i died on her unexpectedly yesterday.  When the key is
inserted into the ignition, it just turns without any response at all.  Also,
there is a warning that says there is a key in the ignition even though there
isn't one.
