2003 X5 (Aux?) Fan Keeps Running29 Dec 2005 22:40 GMT5
Could anyone suggest a reason why the auxiliary fan in my 2003 X5 keeps
running even after the engine and ignition are shut off? I presume it's the
auxiliary fan but don't know for sure. The fan noise is emanating from the
area where the cabin filter is installed under the hood ...
Washer liquid warmer29 Dec 2005 01:22 GMT150
I read an article about a washer liquid warmer in some of the new Buick
Lucerne. My quick response was.... what a good idea. I noticed that
some of the luxurious GM car (Cadillac) also has this feature. I wonder
if this is really a good idea, especially if you live in a cold winter
BMW Navigation System & iDrive28 Dec 2005 20:45 GMT13
Is there any chance that BMW will scrap its nav system for one that doesn't
look like a beta version of the Lexus system? The workflow logic of the nav
inputs is so idiotic, I can't believe BMW uses it. Also any chance that they
will scrap the idrive system for one that actually ...

I've been chasing one issue after another --- I think I'm just uncovering new
issues.
Right now -- all signs lean towards a blown head gasket.
I'm going to tear into it --- are there any gotcha's to be worried about? the

OBC bulbs keeping blowing...27 Dec 2005 19:38 GMT2
The OBC bulbs on my 1992 525i only last about 3 weeks or so, then burn out.
I purchased the last 3 at the dealership. The display is nice and bright
before they burn out. Any idea on why this is happening or how to fix?
Thanks!

2004 BMW 545I engine failure27 Dec 2005 14:42 GMT6
Has anyone had an engine go bad? I first heard a tapping noise. I
thought it sounded like a valve. My local dealer has inspected the
engine, spoke to BMW NA and Germany. They have agreed to replace the
engine. They boroscoped the engine and found damage in the block. I
E39 Cluster, Speedometer and Failsafe mode Transmission problems27 Dec 2005 06:37 GMT5
Something very strange started happening with my 1999 E39 BMW 528IT:
- Occasionally the speedometer stops working (showing a speed of 0
mph), and of course this also messes up the MPG and MPH averages in the
on-board computer.
Petrol Octane - Was: Considering a BMW - A Few Questions27 Dec 2005 02:58 GMT37
Was just reading the "Considering a BMW - A Few Questions" and I was
curious after seeing a few of the replies.
Over here in the UK you've got a choice of 2 types of unleaded "gas".
IIRC you've got bog standard unleaded at 95 octane, and super (aka
Auxiliary audio input on 2006 5 series?27 Dec 2005 00:24 GMT2
I went to test drive the 550i today and really liked it.  But
unfortunately it didn't have an auxiliary input for a portable audio
device like the new 330i does.  I listen to a lot of Podcasts to and
from work, so this feature is pretty important to me.
