you stop at a light, the needle starts to move up and down again. if
you don't do anything it will eventually die out. what do i need to do?
Valve Adjust -- symptoms of over adjusting?24 Dec 2005 22:37 GMT3
I adjusted my valves yesterday.  They were making a lot of clicking noises.
This was my 1st time doing it.  It seems a "little" movement yeilded a lot of
change.  I did use feeler gauges to measure.
While the engine runs much quieter, I notice that it's harder to start now -- it

E46 Microfilter24 Dec 2005 11:41 GMT9
ok, I know where the microfilter is under the hood  on the E46. But doing
some reading, I am wandering if there is another microfilter maybe in the
place it was on the E36. Is there 2 microfilters for the E46 A/C or just
one?
Just picked up my new 55024 Dec 2005 08:37 GMT11
Drives fantastic.  I resisted getting a bmw for 20  years, but I must admit
it drives great.  However, the 'iDRIVE" is anything but intuitive.  not
nearly as easy to use as my wife's lexus radio and navigation system.
Banjo Bolt Story (m30 -- oil spray bar)24 Dec 2005 02:02 GMT2
Just had to share this story.
I had read a lot about the banjo bolts on the spray bar coming loose on
the m30 engine.
I checked the service records for our car, and bmw did perform the

Anyone here run an E36 318TDS?23 Dec 2005 20:34 GMT12
I'm looking at getting an E36 Touring for the SO, and although the extra
economy is a really nice thing to have, is the M41 engine to underpowered
for this body? Is it really only 90BHP for an intercooled turbo diesel?
I've only ever driven E36s with M50/52 engines and these are ...

Wondering if anyone can help. I have a 98 318ise and I find that when I stop

Strange oil leak E36 4 cyl22 Dec 2005 21:38 GMT3
On my 1995 318, I have a significant oil leak coming from somewhere on
the lower front side of the engine and above and slightly behind the
steering gear.  It looks like it only happens when the engine is
running.  The profile gasket has been done by the dealer several years
Rough Idle sometimes... (e32/m30)22 Dec 2005 21:11 GMT11
At first I thought it was the performance chip I put in on cold mornings... but
it's not rough on all cold starts.
By rough; I mean -- Rough; like it's missing on 1 or 2 cylinders. 2 minutes of
driving, and it appears cleared up.
Can the BMW Key disable my car????22 Dec 2005 21:02 GMT1
I just put the BMW key in the ignition and everything went dead! Nothing
works. I read the owners manual and it said it had a key disabling device -
but everything is shut off.  I opened up the key and found that there is a
disk type battery, could that be dead and could that be the ...
