How does the car communicate with the dealer?05 Dec 2005 23:22 GMT10
In the newer BMWs, in the US at least, the car sends out info to the dealer
that it is due for service or some malfunction requires it to be serviced.
Does anyone know what technology is used to transmit this info?  Is it an

£50 that are advertised as suitable (eg item 8019060896), does anyone
E46 M3 odd sound05 Dec 2005 11:27 GMT9
Hi. I've noticed a rather odd sound coming from the rear of my car, a 2001
M3 Coupe. It sort of sounds like "whooooph-whooooph". It's a low frequency
sound and is usually heard while making low-speed left turns. Has anyone
heard this as well?
