323 Auto Trunk problem03 Feb 2006 00:14 GMT8
I have a 2000 323CI.   The car has an automatic trunk release on the
left hand, front inside firewall.   The release was working for a while
and now will not activate the trunk.   The trunk release on the remote
is also not releasing the trunk.   Can anyone help?   Is there,
Reliability of SMG?02 Feb 2006 23:14 GMT6
How reliable are the SMG transmissions, especially in 2001-present M3s?
I've looked through the history of this newsgroup about SMG, but I've
seen no mention of failure rate or overall longevity.
With all those added electronics, I'm concerned that the tranny could

524td cylinder head01 Feb 2006 22:04 GMT3
I have a 1984 Lincoln Continental with the 524td diesel engine. I may need a
cylinder head in addition to a head gasket if the head cannot be machined
down. I'm looking for sources for new heads since remanufactured items are
always suspect (welds etc.)

1990 525i with 240k miles - has my auto tranny bit the dust?01 Feb 2006 19:32 GMT10
It started out several months ago with slipping between first & second gear.
Today, it was slipping between all gears then just stopped going forward
altogether.
The guy at the shop said he didn't think it was worth dropping the pan but
1990 525i auto replacement transmission is slipping - no place to add more fluid01 Feb 2006 18:15 GMT6
At around 210,000 miles, I had my auto transmission replaced with one I got
at a junk yard.
It worked fine for a bout 1.5 years.  Now it is hesitating going from 1st to
second - like it was a manual transmission and you're releasing the clutch
Adding NAV to 2006 530i E3901 Feb 2006 16:12 GMT4
Just bought a 2006 530i over the weekend but dealer was unable to
locate a unit with NAV built in (as well as some of the other options I
wanted). I was curious if there was a simple path to adding the NAV
function now that they already have the LCD dash screen and roof

Lost reverse in 1993 BMW 740iL
How big of a problem could this be? How much work would it take to fix
it myself? How much would it cost? How do I troubleshoot the problem?
Thanks!
E46 Electronic Transmission Control Module Problem01 Feb 2006 15:14 GMT4
My 2002 330xi has a slipping transmission.  A light came on inside the
gear selection display on the dash (a large round gear with an
exclamation point inside the circle) ......not a good thing, I'm sure.
When I put it in drive, and give it gas it sounds like it's in
E30 318is Exhaust Recommendations (again)01 Feb 2006 02:53 GMT1
I finally looked up what I bought.  It was from Bavarian Auto Sport.
They do not say what brand it is, but I called and they said is was
made by Bosal.  It is the same as what they are currently offering.
The exhaust and install kit would cost about $275 and most of an
