Alpina Alloys27 Feb 2006 09:54 GMT6
I was looking at Alpina or replica alloys on ebay and noticed a pair
advertised as genuine with the Alpina part number, but with the valve
visible on the rim, not under the cap. I thought the valve had been hidden
on all alpina alloys since the mid 80's, anyone know if some have ...
Change of car.27 Feb 2006 05:18 GMT19
Fir the last 17 months I have been driving a 1998 535 and I have had
terrific enjoyment out of it. Foolishly I mentioned that I would like
to have it changed for a Tourer model hoping to get a 540. No such
luck though. On Wednesday I pick up a 4 year old 530 sport touring
e34 coolant leak26 Feb 2006 23:55 GMT2
95 525i 140000 miles. I just brought this car from sunny Florida to New
Hampshire and it seems to have a few issues with me doing so.
While warming, i have noticed a slow (1 drip per 10 seconds) leak in the
lower rear part of the motor, and it drips on to the exhaust. Stops after

Winter drivinng: FWD and RWD with snow tires vs. AWD with all-season tires - what people who have done the tests say 26 Feb 2006 18:27 GMT29
It seems like every year someone posts a message asking about how to make
their 2WD car make it through the snows of winter, how much snow tires help,
and the discussion veers to the supposed benefits of AWD vs. 2WD (front or
rear) in such conditions. (Somebody trying to justify ...
328 2000 Engine Replacement26 Feb 2006 16:36 GMT4
Any ideas of cost of this for engine and labor? Refurbished or new?
840.. how expensive are these to keep running26 Feb 2006 15:33 GMT2
I seem to be getting attracted to the 840, well more to the 850 but I'm
sure the 850 is a *real* money pit.
How much care and maintenance would an 840 need?  If I bought a 'decent'
one with, say, about 100k or so on the clock is it something that could

You have one last chance to own this piece of Nissan history...
I am still open to negotiation on price in case the current top 2 bidders
fall through.
2006 325i gas and iDrive26 Feb 2006 11:22 GMT2
What type of gas are people using in a 2006 325i 4dr.
My 2002 runs fine on regular octane 87.  Was thinking about this when I was
considedeing the new model.  Also, any good experience with iDrive.  I only
hear negative.
Coolant temp never gets above blue zone26 Feb 2006 01:29 GMT33
Following on from the "mpg" thread, I run a E39 528 and my coolant
temp hardly ever gets out of the blue zone, even after my twice daily
15 mile motorway run its barely above it - a mm or so at best and
never anywhere near straight up vertical...
E36 320 Fuel level sensor replacement.26 Feb 2006 01:25 GMT4
My fuel indicator on the dash now reads zero as does the OBC. I have
narrowed it down to being the sensor in the drivers side (rh) tank by
taking readings across the terminals of both this one & the passenger
side.

Car Wax recommendations25 Feb 2006 16:01 GMT37
Ok guys and girls, what is the best in your minds wrt to Wax.
I have a Midnight Black 328 e36 convertible.  I used NuTone on it and was
not unimpressed with the result, but I noted a very subtle kind of
"spotting" on the large surfaces.  The finish also feels a little soft.  In
e34 Wipers25 Feb 2006 10:42 GMT4
I have been away on a trip all week and returned to my frozen up car (1996
e34 520i SE Tourer).
Without thinking I attempted to operate the wipers they moved momentarily
but then stopped. I released them from the snow/ice but the seem to have
