Replacing corrode fuel pipe19 Feb 2006 15:57 GMT11
My 1987 BMW fuel piping is getting rather corroded, and is now leaking just
after the fuel filter.  I would like to replace the whole length from the
filter (at back of car) through to the the Injection system at the front.  I
assume there must be an acceptable DIY way to do this ...

Have 1984 528i E28 289,000 Km. About 2 weeks ago engine died while driving.
After about 1 minute motor restarted as if nothing was wrong. This happened
several more times. Noticed that the tacho went immeadiately to zero. Since
then no further problem. Suspect Motronic unit or ...

Convertible Top Question19 Feb 2006 02:39 GMT9
I recently purchased a 1999 323i with the full automatic convertible
top.  The problem is the top won't go down.  The LED light on the top
control flashes and both motors are engaged but the latches won't
disengage to allow the top to move.  I've read about a procedure to

E30 1987 325e - Driver Seat Mechanism18 Feb 2006 23:03 GMT1
In my '87 325e I have a problem with the driver seat mechanism. The lower
lever that controls the reclining works fine. The upper lever (near the head
rest) which controls the seat to move it forward does not. I opened up the
back of the seat and noticed that a wire cable is broken. ...
E30 fuel pump18 Feb 2006 22:56 GMT4
Fuel pump seized on 1990 325i. Is that a typical lifespan for these? Filler
neck had rusted and has had to be replaced recently. As the garage returned
the car the pump seized which seems an unfortunate co-incidence.

Z3 wiper problem18 Feb 2006 14:05 GMT3
I hope someone has an answer...
Driving home in the rain last night, and along a very dark road the
wipers just quit.  I had been using them on high for the last twenty
minutes.  None of the positions of the stalk would get a response from
COMFORT ACCESS ISSUES18 Feb 2006 02:36 GMT2
I have had a problem with the "comfort access" where sometimes the car
recognizes my key and sometimes it doesn't and I have to use the buttons on
the remote to unlock it.  I tried changing the battery and that didn't work.
Has anyone else seen this type of problem?  Is there a ...
Tires18 Feb 2006 01:28 GMT7
I just bought a 2003 BMW 540i sedan.  It has snowtires, so I need to get a
set of tires this spring.
I generally go with Michelins, but thought I'd throw this one out to the
group to see what you all think.  I played with the site, and came up with

Normal Battery Drain?17 Feb 2006 20:34 GMT3
What is the normal battery drain?  With the car stopped and everything
off, I measure 10 mA between the disconnected negative battery post and
the negative ground cable.  It was over 100 mA, but I isolated that
problem and am now wondering whether I am back to normal (i.e. not
Heater Control Valve Replacement17 Feb 2006 15:13 GMT2
One of the heater control valves is shot on my '96 328i (it's got dual
climate control). The other is working fine.
Is it possible to change just one of the valves? I know BMW only sell
the complete unit with two valves but perhaps I can buy a solenoid to
