What used car should I buy? BMW or Benz?26 Mar 2006 04:59 GMT21
I have been driving Japaness cars all my life. They are good, but I am tired
of them.
I drove Audi A6 for months. It was so bad - Heavy, easy to break down, drink
gas like crazy, difficult to handle...

BMW Newbie25 Mar 2006 02:39 GMT12
I have owned numerous Jap cars over the past 20 years.  I am, for the first
time looking at a BMW 740i.  Are they noted to be as dependable as the jap
cars?  I have put between 200K-300K miles on most of my Jap cars.  Can I
expect the same with the BMW's?  Are they as easy to ...
e36 318is bogs down at certain throttle positions25 Mar 2006 01:19 GMT7
I have been battling a problem with my 93 318is for about 5 months
now.  It runs strong when cold but as it reaches normal operating temp,
it seems to bog down when the accelerator is applied medium to hard.  I
have learned to back of the accelerator just a bit and the ...
91 325i real wheel bearing do i need it?24 Mar 2006 21:38 GMT5
There was a strange clanking sound at the rear end of my car almost 7-8
months back and when I went to a shop that works on beamers they told
me it was the rear wheel bearings and quoted me $600 so obviously i
didn't do it, instead my wife took the care to a local automotive shop
E34 starting to sound deeper24 Mar 2006 18:40 GMT3
My 92 525i (E34) is starting to sound a bit deeper than it used to. The
downside of my short commute is I don't think the exhaust ever warms up
enough. Is this the front or rear muffler most likely needing
replacing? The catalytic converter should be OK, no?
Replacing tailgate/boot door on 1984 Tourer.24 Mar 2006 15:37 GMT1
The tailgate/boot on my 318i Tourer is becoming badly rusted and looks
terrible.  Luckily the corrosion is limited to this one panel.  The rest
of the car is in good condition.
I have found a replacement but am wondering how easy these things are to

1984 BMW 318i Overheating24 Mar 2006 13:57 GMT5
I have a well loved 318i Tourer.
It recently started overheating. The cooling system didn't seem damaged in
any way, and i assumed it was the water pump - so replaced it.
This helped for a while, but then it started overheating again.
Protective windshield coating - anyone have this?23 Mar 2006 22:27 GMT2
I'm really sick to the back teeth of having my BMW windshields damaged
(and once a crack forms, replaced) all too frequently due to stone
damage.
Even the >tiniest< pebble will leave a large gouge in the soft

brake lights stay on after being replaced23 Mar 2006 04:00 GMT3
I am hoping you can help me. I recently had some brake work done on my
2003 BMW 325i. I had pads and rotors replaced, including the sensors.
It is my understanding that the vehicle only comes with two sensors.
One for the front brakes, one for the back ones, but I am also reading

1991 520i central locking22 Mar 2006 05:14 GMT2
Over Christmas, I puchased my first BMW.
I love it.
I was only ever given keys (no remote). The central locking has been
dodgy for the past 2 months but now, all of a sudden, turning the key
