E46 M3 oil choices05 Mar 2006 14:42 GMT6
Do I really need to use synthetic oil? Based on everything I've read, there is no practical difference between natural and synthetic oils. Like most of us here, I am not made of money and the huge price difference between the two services is a factor for me. Of course, I will use ...

stands tomorrow and take a look, but I know from experience that
CD Changer04 Mar 2006 20:56 GMT8
1996, M3 Evo, UK. The othr day, after I had changed one CD in the boot
mounted changer, the CD player suddenly quit. In the radio/CD console,
it shows up as No Disc, whereas the changer in the boot refuses to
eject the cartridge. It in fact gives absolutely no response when I

On this line is a small valve or switch; it's black in color; with an arrow on

e36 window failure - resolution.02 Mar 2006 19:53 GMT2
The circuit that controls the windows/sunroof had become slow to
initialize after starting my e36.  Eventually, it died altogether.
Many have faced this problem and I just wanted to take the time to post
a solution that worked for me.
E36 - broken fuel pump? How can I tell?02 Mar 2006 18:25 GMT3
Ive been trying to start my BMW e36 1997 last few days - and no
success. Tried last night and the fuel consumption gauge would show far

catch), and today, it doesn't show any fuel consumption - and all I
Cylinders 2-4-6 Too Rich02 Mar 2006 17:35 GMT13
My independent has had my car, a 1990 525i for too long.  He has found
that the cylinders 2-4-6 are getting way too much gas from the
injectors.  He originally put a new air mass meter on it, no change,
that wasn't it.  He thought it was the computer that controlled the
Choice of Brake Pads for 2001 530i02 Mar 2006 15:51 GMT4
The brake wear light just came on in my 2001 530i. I am not sure whether it

replace all of them. What I am looking for is advice on the pads to buy. I
am mostly concerned with the annoying brake dust. I ...
broken air filter housing01 Mar 2006 22:43 GMT3
I tried to fix a tear in my air filter housing, but instead fixing it,
I accidentally made it bigger. So I put it back in the car and put the
tear together. Is this dangerous to the engine?
I'll look for its replacement in the wreckers this weekend, but if
