Error Code Air Mass Meter08 Apr 2006 07:00 GMT1
My 1991 525i stopped running the garage gave me a code for the air mass
meter, we replaced it and got the same error code. The bavarin garage says
the computer is not accepting it or there is something wrong with the
wireing. Any thoughts on this?

E38 brake discs lifespan07 Apr 2006 21:23 GMT8
At a recent service my local dealer in Coventry said the front discs
and pads needed changing, so I gave the go-ahead. Thing is, they were
changed about two years ago (about 22k miles). That doesn't seem right,
I don't brake that hard.
Me again...computer problem now?...07 Apr 2006 16:28 GMT1
I just bought a 2000 540iT w/100K miles; time/distance did not allow
for a correct pre-purchase inspection. (shame...)
Self-leveling suspension error message is on, AC compressor will not
come on.  All else 5 X 5, runs like scalded cat.
Removing staked collar nut? E3907 Apr 2006 03:00 GMT13
How exactly does one remove and install a staked collar nut?  It looks
like it would need a special socket since on my 99 528i it needs
torqued down to 300Nm.
Second, if I remove it do I need a new one to replace it with?
X5 free maintenance06 Apr 2006 16:54 GMT8
I just bought 3.5y old 2002 X5 with 43500 miles on it. I checked that
is is covered by warranty till July 2006. How about free
maintenance/inspections 1 or 2/oil change? Does it have that too?

E39 wheel weights06 Apr 2006 14:53 GMT7
I don't see any weights on the wheels of my just purchased 2003 530
(premium package wheels). Are these supposed to be added to the inside
of the rims? I'm asking because I get a slight wheel rumble around
70mph that seems to smooth out at around 90.
GPS/Nav performance problems06 Apr 2006 11:20 GMT5
I recently bought a 2002 M3 with the navigation system.  But its
performance has been far poorer than expected.
On any cloudy day and many sunny ones, the GPS has no idea where I am.
I always get a lat/long reading, but the nav's map places me miles
Rear brakes stuck after leaving parked in rain06 Apr 2006 00:49 GMT7
I hand-washed the car and left it parked outside overnight (no
handbrake), after which it rained quite a bit, so a bit of rust coating
built up.
This morning, I get in and find that when I try to drive off (reverse),
325i auto gearbox06 Apr 2006 00:36 GMT4
I have a 1993 325i coupe with a dodgy automatic gearbox. The number on
the box is 5HP 18 and I have located a 5HP 19 for sale. Does anyone
know if they are compatible with each other i.e. the 19 can be fitted
in place of the 18 without too much alteration?

E36 Over heat problem05 Apr 2006 18:57 GMT7
I was wondering if anyone here could help me with a problem that happened
today with my 2.5L - 6 cylinder E36 on a K plate.
Basically the car has been as good as gold.. it's done 119,000...
So today I was on a 4 mile journey to the next town. As I drove into the
Help!05 Apr 2006 18:42 GMT2
There appears to be a driveshaft vibration between 25 to 30 MPH.  I took
the heat shield off to inspect the Guibo and carrier bearing.
Everything is new between the transmission and the final drive.  I
looked for the alignment marks on the driveshaft and didn't find any
330D M57 Engine Issues05 Apr 2006 17:14 GMT5
I have a 2000 E46 330D which has recently had a faulty diesel injector.  I
have discovered some facts about the engine during my experiences in getting
the injector replaced.
I just thought I'd put something up here so that you can all share my
E36 Transmission Service, Seattle Area, Eastside05 Apr 2006 16:37 GMT1
I have the infamous GM tranny in my E36. It works just fine. I have a small
leak from where the cooler connects to the line up near the radiator. I
figure if I change the 40 cent gasket I will lose some fluid, so I figure I
will just service the tranny all at once. I would do it ...
