1997 318i BMW A/C problems25 May 2006 02:37 GMT2
I have a 318i 1997 bmw which the a/c shuts off and on by it's self. I am
unable to use the defrost as well. The display will sometimes show dim
readings. I also hear clicks or a loud sound of the vents opening and closing
which lets me know that I can attempt to turn on the unit.
Windows amd roof opened.25 May 2006 00:46 GMT7
My car is parked in my garden well away from the road or interference.
It is a 2000 540 tourer with 54K miles on it and I have had it for 3
months without any real problems. Today my wife noticed the car
windows and the roof had opened and it was raining. It was ok 30
bmw e36 m3 sunroof stuck open24 May 2006 23:16 GMT5
I have tried to follow the emergency closing procedure, however, as i
torque the hex key provided in the tool kit in the luggage compartment,
it appears that if i apply any more torque, i am going to break the hex
key.  Should I just use a more heavy duty hex key?  Or are there any
Problems with my 2002 325i24 May 2006 22:29 GMT6
Can anyone comment on a few problems of my 2002 325i
I encountered in the first year?
Has anyone seen similar problems?
1) The seat belt buckle of the driver's seat is unreliable.

This is a 325i with M20 engine and it high speeds and high rpms it

What are some of the first things to check, plug wires and distributor
cap?

Anyone know where a good engine swap guide is, or of any special tools
I might need?
Who makes BMW towbars24 May 2006 12:20 GMT5
Hi.  I have a 530D Sport and am having trouble getting a towbar fitted.
BMW dealer wants £1200+.  A reputable aftermarket company has much
experience fitting to 530D SE, but says their normal model will not fit
the Sport  (have confirmed this with another company).
Radio Noise '99 323i24 May 2006 07:57 GMT3
My AM radio has noise that sounds like ignition noise but definitely is
related to the driving speed, and not the engine RPM.
What can I look at to determine where the problem is coming from? I
thought maybe I could disconnect something and see if the noise goes
Cold Blooded 200223 May 2006 19:25 GMT3
I've got a '75 2002 with a Weber and a water choke.  The problem I'm
having is with cold starting.  So far I've always been able to get it
started but I usually have to sit with my foot on the gas for about
five minutes to keep it running.  I pump it twice and then after a
92 735 (e32) Oil change interval.23 May 2006 19:14 GMT4
Should I be worried at all?   I've gone about 1600 miles since the last
oil change; which was 5 months ago -- (or so the computer should think).
I've done almost exclusively stop & go driving (more wear & tear)
The computer/display has not dropped the bar one bit yet -- I was going ...
Check engine light23 May 2006 16:40 GMT5
I have a 1990 325i convertible.  I just fixed several items that needed
work when I bought the car.  I managed to reset the service lights with
a method someone gave me.  However, the check engine light has remained
on.  Can anyone tell me how to reset the check engine light without
Where's the aeriel ?23 May 2006 15:56 GMT8
Where's the aeriel on a 1994 BMW 320i Coupe.
One autoglass guy told me its in the front window.
So I always assumed that without question.
Now another Auoglass guy tells me its in the rear window.
1999 E36 airbag seat sensor23 May 2006 15:32 GMT1
The airbag light is on in my car and the dealership puts the blame on
the sensor in the passenger seat which detects if there is a passenger
or not.
Is this something that can be done by a reasonably competent DIY-er, or
Mixing tire brands?23 May 2006 04:11 GMT6
The Bridgestone Potenza RE040's on my E46 coupe are getting worn, though
the rears tires are in worse shape than the fronts.  I'd like to replace
the rears first and wait until next year to do the front tires.
I'm thinking I may not go with Bridgestones when I purchase the
