E36 M3 minor body work31 Aug 2006 20:58 GMT1
I have found a number of dings, tiny dents (in odd places), scratches,
and missing undercarriage pieces on my 98 M3.  I have already learned
from this group that this particular car (4 door automatic) is not very
worthy of my time but I still like it.
Exhaust rumbles E46 M331 Aug 2006 15:23 GMT6
I may get seriously flamed for this but here goes: is there a muffler
available that would make my 2001 M3 sound more like an American V8? I like
the stock M3's exhaust note but I have a soft spot for the sound of a small
block Chevy and other American muscle cars.
1994 BMW 520 Auto - engine won't start properly30 Aug 2006 19:51 GMT5
Today after a about half a dozen short runs - it has been thrashed on
those runs too - my BMW is now refusing to start properly.
It does crank, and can just about sustain itself at low revs (i.e.
below the normal idle) for about 5 seconds before it starts to struggle
New old car: '87 BMW 325i cab30 Aug 2006 14:53 GMT3
Gurus of the group,
I've just bought this car http://home.no.net/azoth/325icab.jpg and for
being a 19 year old car it's in "mint" condition, some rust but nothing
that can't be dealt with.
E30 Fuel issue continues30 Aug 2006 14:35 GMT2
So now I've replaced the fuel filter and pump and the problem remains.  I
guess I thought I would post my symptoms one more time before I limp it off
to the only BMW service station around... also the only dealer around.
Engine runs fine, on gentle throttle up to 1500 or 2000 RPM ...
Reboring /sleeving 740 4.4 engine30 Aug 2006 14:13 GMT16
I had unfortunate incident at a BMW dealership. Whilst sevicing My 1997
740 4.4 litre  the technician accidently dropped the screw top of the
spark plug  into one bore. Needless to say on start up destroyed the
head and scored the cylinder. The dealership now wants to machine the
85 325e (Code on Radio)30 Aug 2006 12:40 GMT1
Does anyone know how to get the radio code on an 85 325e.  I have no
Idea how to reset it or what the code is, I'm not the original owner.
Have your say? Why bmw?29 Aug 2006 18:54 GMT39

1990 E30 M40 hot start problem29 Aug 2006 14:38 GMT3
I have an 1990 318i that is hard to start when the engine is hot but
start with no problems when the engine is cold (in the morning). When
the engine is hot, if I turned it off and started it again almost
immediately, the start is good. But if started it, let's say after 15
Incipient tranny problem?29 Aug 2006 14:25 GMT1
I've noticed recently when I put my 2001 X5 3.0 into gear, there's a
noticable lack of torque. Before, it would begin moving immediately, now, it
just sits there. Most especially when I just start the car.
TIA
BMW 740 Starting Problem29 Aug 2006 13:24 GMT5
my mechanic has told me of a 740 that is for sale at a very cheap price
because the car was flooded with water (under the left hand seat I
believe), all the electrics work but the engine ticks over but does not
fire up (no spark or no fuel is my guess) the owner wants to sell it
E36 suspesnsion - Bilstein shocks29 Aug 2006 13:16 GMT2
I'm going to fit new suspensiobn to my 328i touring. Was planning on
using genuine BMW //M-Tech springs.
Boge are the OEM supplier for the related shocks, but I have a
preference towards Bilstein. Problem is that places such as euro car
