Seeking the group's wisdom on this. Car is 2005 330Ci, my first bimmer and one I'm enjoying greatly. However, I find that the water temp guage is "buffered". That is when, say, climbing up a mountain road to a pass, many of which Washington State

For the last week, my 94 740IL has been making a rattling/clanging noise under the passenger seat, especially when accelerating from a stop up to around 40 mph. I got under the car this weekend and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. Called the dealership this morning, ...

| ICE-32 | 08 Aug 2006 16:44 GMT | 2 |
Based on comments on this group I had ICE-32 added to my 1998 740i's air conditioning. The AC has been borderline in really hot weather even though the dealer says it is performing up to "factory specs." It cost $70 at a Firestone service center. The verdict? A slight (but ...

Here's my story: The alternator on my 2001 325Xi (E46) died while on the road, and the battery couldn't keep the engine running long enough to get to a repair shop. Had it towed to the dealer for repairs. (dealership is just a mile

Can anyone confirm if the water pump in a 1995 E34 525 TDS has a plastic or metal impellor and whether is prone to sudden failure ? The garage thought / said it was metal but it has just ? possibly ? failed - the car overheats very quickly and shuts down to a 30 mph limp home

| Oil Burner | 07 Aug 2006 20:59 GMT | 6 |
I have replaced my trusty E36 328 with an E39 530. I've done about 9k miles since purchase and have had to put three litres of oil in it (regular intervals). Trusty E36 didn't need a drop. Does this sound excessive and something to worry about? There's no drips when parked up so ...

| Z4 question for novel I'm writing | 07 Aug 2006 16:49 GMT | 5 |
Hey -- I'm writing a piece of fiction, and in it, an '06 Z4 is involved in an accident. I was about to have a piece of evidence left behind at the scene -- a piece of the turn-signal lens -- but it occurred to me that I'd better make sure that's practical. Could it happen?
