| How to remove hood strut on 1995 E36 | 19 Oct 2006 01:34 GMT | 3 |
The hood struts on my E36 need to be replaced and I ordered replacements but I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the bad struts. It looks like there is a pin rather than a bolt that hold it on to the frame and the hood. Any ideas for how to remove this?

Someone 'backed into' my boss' sons' 1986 BMW 635CSi and did some damage. The body shop says he can't find the parts needed. Who is a good source? I've googled some sources for them and was able to find some grille assemblies but the main problem is finding the header that ...

Have about 1000 mi on the new E90, 330xi. When viewed from the rear, I notice the left of the two exhaust pipes looks more used that the right one. As if the right one is never (or hardly) used, but the left one is used all the time.

I have a 1995 BMW 740iL, a couple of days ago as I drove on the interstate, I heard a loud humming sound that only got worst as I accelerated, I thought it was the transmission, yet the gears engage correctly. So I stopped at a mechanics and he came to the conclusion

| part found on driveway | 16 Oct 2006 02:19 GMT | 3 |
I found something on my driveway the other day where my E38 is parked and can't figure out what it might be. It's grey, flat ribbed plastic about 5" long, 1" wide, blunt one end and pointed the other. The ribs run length-wise and on the face, at the blunt end there is an oval ...

| Diesel starting problem - update | 15 Oct 2006 15:17 GMT | 47 |
I'm not 100% sure of the netiquette associated with providing an update to a recent thread. I'm sure, if you're like me, that you don't read old threads, so I thought I'd make a posting under a new subject. If you can recall, I have an old BMW that has an intermittent starting

I've got a '93 e36 3251 automatic BMW. The car water temperature gauge needle does not want to raise to its normal working temperature, even after 20kms, until when the car comes to stop-and-go traffic, or while during frequent braking, then the needle goes up.
