Can anyone help me in telling me if I can make a conversion from an
automatic transmission from a E36 to a Manual E46 6 speed
Transmission?

Ok, the car's done this before.  I mean the guage stayed on empty after
filling the tank.  A week ago, I switched on the ignition half way through
filling up and the guage moved to half.  Switched off the ignition again but
after filling the tank completely, it was still showing ...

Checked fuses and it shows 13v
Checked wiring for damage in the rear not damage found
Checked bulbs their good.
Checked voltage across the bulbs which there is not when car is in reverse.

The numberplate lights on my e30 are not working. When I checked them, I
found that there is no power getting to the bulbs. The earth is good,
all fuses are ok, and the bulbs are good.
When I looked at the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual, the wires go

I have bought personalized number plates for my E38 but cant figure
out how to change them (front or rear), there aren't any screws in the
number plates so they must be fixed on behind somehow, should I just
push the existing ones off?

1) Can anyone tell me where to find the built date on the car, where is the
ID plate?.

I have a e36 compact 1996 1.6 when i turn the ignition on the fuel
guage goes to the full position for about 5 seconds and then plummets
to the empty position and stays there the light never comes on and i
dont know if this is a common fault but would be grateful if there is

i put 2 new o2 sensors..and these codes flashed.

Got my car on 64k miles, now it is at 76k all running fine. After about
6k, a message appeared "check engine oil level" (or words to that

How similiar are the E28 cars to the E30s? I am looking to see if
the body lines are similiar down the side. Do the doors interchange?
Reason I ask is that I bought a sideskirt kit from Erebuni that
although it's supposed to fit, doesn't. Everything lines up except for

There is a rattle from the cat. from the above vehicle. Does this mean that
the best thing to do would be to get it/them changed. The exhaust centre
said that it will fail the next MOT and will cost £700 to replace?

I have a 99' 528i. That recently the engine died on. All 4 cylinders are
filled with Oil. The Shop indicates that I need a new motor in it, I was
wondering if these are good quotes for a normal replacement:
