Fault code reset?28 May 2007 14:13 GMT4
If the DSC light is on because of a steering angle sensor fault, and you
replace or repair the sensor, should the light go off straight away,
or will it take some time/journeys, or does it absolutely need the fault
cleared by someone with a diagnostic computer?

Radiator fan continues to run hours after engine shut off26 May 2007 22:10 GMT1
I have a 99 328i sedan E46 manual. Just yesterday, I noticed the
radiator fan stayed on even after I had turned off the car. I know
there is a sensor watching temperatures and it is supposed to continue
to run for a while if needed, so I ignored it.
M70 oxygen sensor diagnostics26 May 2007 22:09 GMT11
I have an intermittent check engine light, on my 1991 750iL. I have
the Bentley manual, that describes the connector location as beneath
the transmission. Is there any easier location to check the voltages
to the sensor heaters, and the sensor output?
Steering angle sensor E3926 May 2007 20:01 GMT1
Has anyone replaced a steering angle sensor?  It's a 540, 1998, but I
can't imagine other DSC-equipped E39s being much different.  My local
BMW specialist told me it was difficult, so difficult he didn't want to
do it and told me to go to the dealer!  But I had a look and it ...
97 328i Check Engine Light26 May 2007 19:16 GMT5
I have been having intermittent problems with my check engine light and I am
coming up to NYState inspection with the light currently on.  I have had it
diagnosed in the past as an evap leak and have had the smoke test done to
the car only to find no leaks.  The dealership tells me ...

Active Steering (3-Series or other)25 May 2007 12:31 GMT3
I'm looking into getting a new 335i convertible (gotta love that hard-
top) and wondered if anyone out there had opinions on the Active
Steering option. I've read both good and bad reviews and would love
some input. For instance, I've heard that it takes a few months to

check/replace lower control arms on 2000 32322 May 2007 08:57 GMT12
I know very little about BMWs, but a friend was told by her shop that
she needs to replace the lower control arms on her 2000 323 wagon/80k
miles.  She was quoted US$1300.  They told her this after she
experienced brake squeel after an expensive brake job.  Seems

Anyone know what the BMW policy is on paintwork ? My 17 month old 5 series
