Hi, my mechanic has repaired a broken steering box bracket by welding
it.
This has been done twice and now it is breaking again. What could be
causing
Headlight problem17 Jul 2007 19:29 GMT1
The dim light used when meeting other cars has a problem on my BMW 530 model
1993. The right side light is not possible to turn ON. There is no voltage
to be measured on the fuse connected to the right hand side light. The left
side is OK. Where is the feeding for this fuse to be ...
E39 2.8i stalling when hot query17 Jul 2007 18:38 GMT12
I've searched on this but can only find vague references to possible crank
sensor failure from 2002 ...
Any more recent thoughts on this?
Symptoms are stalling when hot both on coastdown and idling in stationary
Original specs.15 Jul 2007 03:25 GMT5
Anyway of finding out what the original manufacturers specs are?
It would appear that some 'extras' are not visibly apparent, so if they are
not working on a s/h car, unless told, one would never know.
The reason I ask is that I have two 528 E39's. A '96 and a '98. The older
fuel filter location?14 Jul 2007 20:19 GMT5
Anyone know where the diesel filter is located on a 2006 520d? I took all
the bottom panels off and I can't find it. Thanks in anticipation, Pete
Ghost rattle...99 M313 Jul 2007 22:04 GMT5
It appears to come from the rear seatback or headrest right side
(opposite driver in US)
It's not a thump like a rear shock mount...and it's not a loose wheel
lock in the trunk's tool box.
E46 Warning Light for Bulbs12 Jul 2007 17:45 GMT2
I think there was a similar post a week or 2. Every now and again I am
getting a bulb gone warning at the back. There seems to be no problems
- would some WD40 on the bulb end and contacts be a good idea?
Thanks,
Remote Key Battery Dead 2003 X 512 Jul 2007 05:43 GMT3
2003 X 5 My Remote Key (Second key) battery is dead.  Yes, I know we
are supposed to use each key every six months and I did not.  I read
that the key is recharged when I the ignition.  Once the battery goes

Door handle on 318i 199711 Jul 2007 21:22 GMT6
The driver's side "outside door handle" became totally inoperative
after I used the key to lock/unlock the car from the passenger's side
door.  Every thing else is working OK.
Any idea or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
2006 525 ecstasy11 Jul 2007 21:01 GMT7
Why am I ecstatic?
Because I finally just got rid of this over priced, under powered, ergonomic
disaster of a German Buick.
Considering the price difference a Buick is a far more intelligent choice of

1997 axle removal and replacement10 Jul 2007 20:23 GMT1
1997 Volvo 850, non turbo, 2.4 liter engine, sedan.  Before jacking
the front up, take the plastic wheel covers off to expose the axle
nuts. Take a heavy duty 36 mm socket with a long handle breaker bar
use a pipe extension or you will have to literally stand and jump on
E46 dash cluster light question10 Jul 2007 17:58 GMT4
I have a 2003 325i. It has 55k miles. She drives like the lady she was
built to be. I am worried because every once in a while when I hit a
large-ish bump or random unavoidable pothole a light flashes in the
dashboard and the car seems to lose a little power for a second. I ...
E30 Spare Wheels10 Jul 2007 17:41 GMT3
What kind of spare wheel did the E30 use? My 1987 has a bottlecap
wheel, my 1991 has a compact spare and a friends' 1989 has a pressed
steel wheel that is obviously factory.
BMW North America - What is wrong with you people? (1 Series rant)10 Jul 2007 10:46 GMT28
OK, I have a 318TI - I love it. It's 10 years old, maybe time to
update. Will I be purchasing a new 1 Series hatchback? No. Why not?
Because whoever makes the calls on what comes to North America has
decided that a market that has shown the desire for a performance
