in California, any Doc fees etc for leasing?25 Nov 2007 18:04 GMT4
When buying or leasing a BMW in California, is there Doc fees or any
other fees?
Sometimes the dealer just add on whatever fees and we as the consumer
just sign the contract and pay for it.

Break in Tips24 Nov 2007 20:35 GMT15
Anyone have useful tips for breaking in (not breaking into) a new
BMW.
I just purchased a 335i convertible, and the dealer said nothing to
worry about ... which I don't 100% trust. I'd like to keep the car for
Tyre radius question23 Nov 2007 21:22 GMT13
I know it's a dumb question, but it's really annoying me.
The weight of a car flattens the tyre where it meets the road, so the radius
is less.
Does an underinflated tyre affect the speedo reading?
E36 ABS/AST bleeding23 Nov 2007 15:50 GMT5
My Partners 1997 E36 323i has failed the MOT on brake pipes (N.Ireland,
so they don't do repairs).  3/4 wheels are affected, so we need the lot
really.
According to my Bentley manual it says  needs specialist equipment at

My brother - who lives at the other end of the country to me in the UK -
is looking at a '00 330 Touring which is for sale privately at well below
the trade price for a one private owner low mileage car. It has a slight
dent in the roof and some damage to the rear bumper - but ...

I have several problems with my 520i and will appreciate any help to evaluate
them before looking at it or going to the stealer.
The car is an 520i, bought new by me in 1994, engine M50, 154,000 Km, european

BMW transmissions, auto/manual reliability21 Nov 2007 19:27 GMT7
Another poster on here stated that his BMW transmission (auto) went
out on him pretty early.  There was a link to another site with a long
list of people whose BMW transmission went out on them...mostly these
were 2000 and 2001 years, I didn't see any older.
Clutch Replacement21 Nov 2007 18:56 GMT4
I received conflicting opinions about replacing the clutch in my 1997
328i (88  K miles).
1. From an independent BMW shop: "Don't let it go too far or you'll
have to replace the flywheel too."
tranny change 2001 to 2004 3 series21 Nov 2007 10:30 GMT3
ARe the 2004 3 series auto transmissions the same junk that is in the
2000 and 2001 3 series?  Does anyone know?
On another related note, are the manual transmissions junk too?  Do
they fail after 80K miles or so?
