| 2000 328i Power Window Problem | 07 Dec 2007 14:59 GMT | 3 |
Hi - I put my passenger rear window down today and heard a crunching noise. Needless to say it would not go back up. After removing the door panel it looks like the cable got wrapped up around the motor or something else. I've never dealt with BMW windows before ( only US cars ...

I just subscribed to this group, and thought I'd introduce myself. I live in North Carolina, near Raleigh, and drive a 1988 528e, which I repair and maintain myself. The car runs pretty well. I've done a lot to it:

| Cruise Control error on new 3-series | 07 Dec 2007 01:57 GMT | 2 |
Has anyone ever got the cruise control error on the new 3-series? I have seen it on both '06 330xi and '08 335xi, both 6-sp manuals. When pulling the cruise stalk to set speed, you get gong sound and big yellow cruise icon with exclamation point. Also see small orange triangle

I'm getting my E30 318is resprayed and thought it might be a good time to install fog lights. There are two types of fog lights on ebay shipped from Hong Kong, and the prices are lower than the genuine BMW ones. Has anyone tried either of them,

| Bosch 4307 sparkplugs for '88 325? | 05 Dec 2007 00:30 GMT | 2 |
Nobody local has the Bentley recommended plug for my 325. I was handed something called the Bosch 4307, a platinum something or other which doesn't have a center electrode. I was kind of in a hurry. Do these things work or did I get the wrong thing? Thanks as always.

I have a 1999 323I BMW. Have a grinding noise in the rear. The mechanic said I need new bearings, and at the same time replace the rear brakes. Did not mention repacking them. He said it would take 5 hours to replace the bearings, which seems

| auto transmission service | 01 Dec 2007 23:23 GMT | 23 |
Is the E46 auto capable of having the trannie fluid changed? I thought someone said that that the fluid is considered "lifetime", meaning you don't change it. Lifetime thus means about 80K miles, I guess. That's when the

| Horrible Logic7 sound - DSP haywire? | 01 Dec 2007 20:30 GMT | 1 |
Have a 2008 335xi, with Logic 7 sound system. Turned the car on, and what was usually that pretty-sounding chord "gong" (for the seatbelt reminder), came out as a horribly garbled, almost screechy sounding noise.

| Headlamp plastic problem | 01 Dec 2007 17:29 GMT | 4 |
A body shop some years go fix a dent in the hood. But the bozos buffed the headlamp covers when they were doing the finish polishing on the hood. This has caused a fogged unclear appearance in the plastic. I can't go back and complain, they aren't in business any more. Is there ...
