| Official pricing for BMW X5M and X6M leaks out | 28 Apr 2009 23:38 GMT | 6 |
The BMW X5M and X6M are all about excess. Excess power (if that's possible), excess girth, and, as we already knew, excess cost. BimmerFile is reporting that the X5M will ding your budget to the tune of $85,400, while the X6M will set you back $88,900. And anyone that has ever ...

| 318 hunting on acceleration | 28 Apr 2009 15:31 GMT | 4 |
My friends 1997 318i coupe seems to be suffering badly on acceleration in first gear only. It hunts severely unless the clutch is slipped, it seems to step up the revs in 1000rpm steps as if you are jumping on and off the accelerator at those points.

| E36 323i timing chain rattle | 21 Apr 2009 21:00 GMT | 18 |
I have a 1997 UK 323i 2.5L 6cyl with about 130K miles with a kocking /rattle comming from the timing chain area. The sound is like a few stones being mixed in a blender at engine speed, and sound is when the stone hit the side.

| P1738 - Pressure Control Solenoid "C" Electrical (BMW) | 16 Apr 2009 05:31 GMT | 1 |
What, and where, is the Pressure Control Solenoid "C" on a '98 7 Series. This is my brother-in-law's car. He's reporting that the car does not shift properly -- I've not ridden in the car and I cannot describe the physical symptoms -- and he says it shakes. The Check light came on ...

I just acquired a 1995 525i. I turned on the A/C, but didn't feel any cool air. After about 5 minutes, smoke suddenly started spewing from the vents. So I shut down the A/C and fan. I didn't see anything else wrong, so

| 88 528e races at cold start... | 11 Apr 2009 00:04 GMT | 24 |
I wonder if somebody has an idea what I can do to fix this myself. At cold start in the morning the engine races, and it takes a while to calm down, to get to normal idle speed. After that, it restarts fine and at proper speed. Is there a sensor that can give a bad reading to

Hi - the check engine light came on today (2000 328i) . I read code 1397 ( Camshaft pos. sensor) along with code 1498. Does anyone know what 1498 is? I saw some info on the web pointing to a transmission fault but that was for a Mini. It said 1498 was for Mini's only - not BMW's. ...

| 2001 X5 | 04 Apr 2009 21:30 GMT | 9 |
I'm looking at a 2001 X5 with 90k miles. Currently own a 1992 E34 which I'm very pleased with. Any special things I should watch out for. I know the 2001 was the second year of the model, which is a bit earlier in the cycle than I like to buy, but it's not a deal-breaker, at ...
