Capacitors26 Dec 2003 10:23 GMT34
When should you consider getting a capacitor for your car audio
system.  Would 800watts be helped out by a capacitor or would it just
be a waste of money.

A few ridiculous questions.26 Dec 2003 09:08 GMT3
Please excuse me for these questions, but I'll readily admit to
knowing just about nothing on these subjects:
1.) How much of a difference is there between a head unit with a
built-in amp and one without a built-in amp, if you're planning on
newbie question: what amp?26 Dec 2003 04:39 GMT6
I'm considering picking up a pair of Image Dynamics CTX6 coax speakers as
well as an ID10D4 V.3 sub which is rated @ 175W RMS.  I don't think I want
to amplify the speakers right now as my stock system can get good and loud but I
need to know what kind of an amp would be good for ...
Faceplate question25 Dec 2003 13:24 GMT2
Maybe you can help me guys. My faceplate was stolen from my bookbag
when I fell asleep in the library at my university. Now I am stuck
with the unit without faceplate. I have the original box, manual etc.

Old Fosgate Power 650 Amplifier : Fix, Sell, or Discard25 Dec 2003 04:00 GMT7
My brother in law recently gave me his Fosgate Power 650.  Just 2
years ago it was pounding four 8" bazookas in his Mustang.  I never
thought 4 small bazookas could feel so good.
Anyway, the amp changed hands a couple of times.  Apparently,
Radio reception worse than factory radio, antenna adapter?24 Dec 2003 14:18 GMT3
I installed a low-end Aiwa CD/Radio stereo in my car as I was getting
tired of the factory tape/radio.  When I was buying the necessary
supplies to install this stereo in my car, the list they have at stores
Stiffening Capacitors Any Use?24 Dec 2003 05:46 GMT2
I have heard arguments for using CAPS and arguments on how they are useless
devices successfully sold purely on "hype".
What is the general consensus of this forum concerning stiffening caps? Are
they worth the money? Is it true that they unnecessarily drain your battery?
Tweeter Placement...24 Dec 2003 05:06 GMT8
Hey all, I recently ordered a set of Directed Audio S650 components for my 2001
Stratus, and though they aren't here yet, I'm looking for help on tweeter
placement. I've never dealt with components before, so I'm pretty unfamiliar
with where I should place the tweeter.  The two ...
Free-air speakers?24 Dec 2003 04:44 GMT2
Quick one.
Do free-air / IB subs typically have a higher or lower Qts than enclosure
specific models? (generally speaking)

Audiobahn  vs Pioneer REV 6.524 Dec 2003 03:28 GMT2
I'm soon going to be in the market for a new pair of 6.5's to go with
my new 4ch amp. Went to the audio shop today and listened to some of
the stuff they had. They had MB Quarts, Infinity, Memphis, and
Audiobahn coax 6.5's. To my ear the Audiobahns sounded the nicest, and
Amp Recommendation help please24 Dec 2003 01:25 GMT2
I just bought a sub/box combo for my wife's jeep.  It's a
Boston Acoustics Pro series 12" in a small SEALED box
(~ 1 cubic foot).  It's also a 2 ohm impedance sub.
She mostly listens to new metal; Korn, KillSwitch Engage,
