| looking for audiophile installers in southern california | 07 Jan 2004 00:39 GMT | 2 |
I'm looking for an audiophile level installer in southern california. I'm not looking for flash, I'm looking for someone who can take the components I buy and install them as accurately as possible and every move you make is in the name of sound quality and not flashing lights.

| Help Needed (Subwoofer) | 06 Jan 2004 18:50 GMT | 2 |
Without starting up another huge debate on what direction to 'aim' a subwoofer, I have a specific sub-question: What happens if I fire my sub into the floor? I've noticed on a lot of higher-end home theater towers and subs that

| Xtant or ADS or? perhaps a serious thread? | 06 Jan 2004 13:48 GMT | 5 |
Well, I have a new car, 2k1 Impala, and I will be adding a 4 channel amp to the thing. Planning on some components for the front (6.5") and some Audiobahn 692Q's in the rear for fill. Anyway, I will be putting 1 4 channel amp in the car and really have a liking for the Xtant ...

I'm curious if anyone could tell me what the switch inside the crossovers of the Directed Audio S650 components is for. I noticed it while installing, and its kinda bugging me since it says nothing about it in the manual. Nick

| Changing the polarity? | 06 Jan 2004 06:37 GMT | 4 |
I was scrolling through some old RAC posts, and noticed a post about someone's Diamond tweeters being too bright for their tastes, and Paul suggested switching the speaker wires at either the amp or the crossover on the passenger side and see if that helps.

| can't find a small sub box | 06 Jan 2004 04:16 GMT | 8 |
I'm interesting in an IDQ10 sub which apparently likes to be in a sealed box with a volume between 0.3 and 0.6 cu ft. I can't seem to find any premade ones that fit into this category (smallest is a Q-Logic 0.65). Since I have the woodworking skills of Homer Simpson, would it be a ...

| Why aren't there more 2-ohm speakers? | 06 Jan 2004 02:57 GMT | 22 |
A discussion in another forum about using transformers to impedance-match speakers with amplifiers got me thinking- Since most car audio amps are 2-ohm stable in stereo, and have been for quite some time, why aren't there more 2-ohm speakers? I'm not
