| car cd player | 13 Feb 2004 02:12 GMT | 2 |
I have a '99 Mazda Protege. The factory CD player has been acting up lately - sometimes I can't insert the CD into the slot - it's like something is keeping the CD from getting sucked inside. I can force the CD inside, but as soon as I hit the 'CD' button, the disk ejects.

| Two 10" need more low end bass. | 12 Feb 2004 19:45 GMT | 25 |
Ive got two Image Dynamics 10" in a sealed box. Would making a new box and adding a single 12" into the mix make any real difference? Or would it be best to just scrap the box and go with (2) 12"'s? M.

| Cold temperatures vs. sub surround | 12 Feb 2004 18:40 GMT | 104 |
It's been anywhere between 20 and -12 degrees farenheit where I live for the last two weeks. Will pushing my subs hard at that temperature hurt the surrounds before they've had a chance to warm up? Should I listen at a lower volume until they've come up in temp a little? 2 ...

| when is capacitors used? | 12 Feb 2004 16:04 GMT | 96 |
I heard that the car battery cannot supply current at a fast enough rate (because of chemical reaction neccesary) for subwoofers and that a cap is needed. At what power ratings should one start to worry about this?

| Help Needed: How does one configure preamp voltage:amp's gain? | 12 Feb 2004 16:01 GMT | 65 |
OK, so my basic understanding is higher-voltage Preamps send better-quality signal, generally speaking, correct? If so, how does one go about attenuating the gain on any given amp in relation to the preamp signal (nomatter which V it is)?

| Static coming from speakers | 12 Feb 2004 10:25 GMT | 1 |
I recently reconfigured my amps so now they're running my Dynaudio System 360 set in tri-amped mode. However, when setting the gains on my amps, I now notice that if I turn the gains up too high, I hear a low-level static noise coming from the speakers (like pink noise). The ...
