| Speaker Help | 21 Feb 2004 02:44 GMT | 1 |
I recently trashed some kenwood 5x7 Best Buy speakers in my 92 escort, so I need new ones. I am kinda new to the car audio, so I wanted some advice. I was at circuit city, and I listened to some alpine speakers, and absolutely loved them. They were:

| New HU - alternator whine? | 21 Feb 2004 02:26 GMT | 13 |
I had an Alpine CDA-9811 (demo unit) HU installed in my 2003 Subaru Outback. I notice what I would term alternator whine present when the volume is very low (level 1-5), or when a quiet song is playing. This is first non-factory stereo I've had, so I'm clueless as to the cause.

| Specifications Ratings | 20 Feb 2004 22:19 GMT | 3 |
An audio car seller told me recently that all the specs about several products where pure fake, just to sell, even those seriuos brands, like Alpine or Rockford. He stated the specifications come over-rated. I wonder how those

| "Fixed" 8 volt output o-loads eq | 20 Feb 2004 14:20 GMT | 14 |
My deck (Eclipse 8053) has biamp outputs - provided the "rear" channels are switched to become "mid" and the front channels become the "high" outputs. So, in biamp mode I have no rear channels---but the deck also has a "Fixed Out" that runs at full volume only.

Has any one repaired a motorised screen. My CVA1005R will not open fully automatically but will 'step by step'. I'm thinking could be a bit tight when sliding out or dust on the slides. Ta

| Electrical Burning Smell after Install | 20 Feb 2004 06:42 GMT | 3 |
If I turn up the bass I get an electrical burning smell from my trunk. Is this a factor of having new equipment installed or do I need to have it looked at?. The subs are (2)12" Kicker cvr's powered by a Sony Xplod P5 1600w Mono amp.

| Sub setup in an SUV, Single 12W7 setup or Dual 12W6 | 20 Feb 2004 02:05 GMT | 4 |
Looking to setup some decent bass in my SUV. A single W7 running from a 1000/1 sounds real nice, but $2k seams a bit much. Dual 12w6's would be half the price but i've yet to find as good a sounding setup. All useful comments welcome :)

| Tiny car audio amp - any good? | 20 Feb 2004 00:39 GMT | 17 |
There is a very small (size of a cell phone?) audio amp on Ebay for $20. It's 20W RMS per channel. Looks like it would be a great size for mounting under the dash and wiring to my front speakers. What do you guys think? I know it wouldn't sound as good as a high
