Stereo rec help31 Mar 2004 20:27 GMT3
Does anyone know of some online web sites that would be useful to get info
on setting up a complete stereo ?  For example, say I want to spend $500 on
an audio setup, what is a good combo of items.  Basically, I am looking for
some links with ideas of complete setups for x dollars.
Pheonix Gold + postage to australia31 Mar 2004 18:07 GMT1
Hey just looking how cheap you guys in the US get your audio gear. I was
looking mainly at the Phoenix Gold tantrum series, a pair of components at
US 95$ and prolly the Ti 500 or Ti 250 to power them. Anyone know how much
it would cost to import it to Australia, in Sydney. inc ...
FM modulators-beware31 Mar 2004 06:21 GMT7
Under the guise of helping a customer save money, the salesperson offers the
insidious FM modulator. If only listening to FM or Cassette, no problem, but
if listening to the potentially crystal clear sound of compact disc, forget
it! Everything that is played through the modulator ...
Perforating stock door grills31 Mar 2004 05:59 GMT14
In my Maxima I have my 8-inch Dyns behind the stock door panels.  Problem is
the stock grills are perforated in an approx. 5-inch circle.  So quite a bit
of the midwoofer is hidden behind the grill.  One of the things I eventually
want to do is work on angling the driver upwards and ...
DVD entertainment for long trip31 Mar 2004 04:09 GMT1
I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with.  My husband has
two laptop computers that contain DVD players in them.  Since we are
driving from TX to FL w/ a 2- and 4-yr old, we wanted to bring them w/
us for all our sanity!  We've used one on short trips (4-5 hrs)
Trying to Find 1 to 2 ohm speakers30 Mar 2004 23:28 GMT2
Am I wasting my time trying to find replacement 6 x 9 rear speakers for my
Bose system J30 Infinity? The current speakers have their own amps running
at 1ohm. The amps are fine but the speakers are deteriorating and IMO the
speakers weren't good to begin with. Rather than put a new ...
trunk space!30 Mar 2004 23:25 GMT5
I have to 10" subs in my trunk. They were very cheap ones each with a
nominal of 175W. I put each of them in a 1.5CuFt box. The problem now is
that the two 1.5 cuft boxes take up all the space in my trunk.
What other mounting options do I have? Can I put the subs into the
sub enclosure30 Mar 2004 23:24 GMT3
If a sub enclosure isn't built to the minimum of a subs air space, what would
happen? would there be a change in sound or what?

Subwoofer firing direction important?29 Mar 2004 23:50 GMT3
I have heard some debate that the sound wave from the subwoofer sounds best
when it has room to travel.  So in saying this would firing a subwoofer
towards a metal sheeting in the car make the sound quality worst or was what
I heard just bull?  Some sites say travel others say no as ...
