Amp problem... ugh.16 Mar 2004 02:09 GMT2
Right.  So i recently got a new set of highs, and installed em in the
dash.  No problems.  Had a couple little power problems -- had to
rewire stuff a bit -- that's when the real problems started:  During
the rewiring, I may have touched the case of the amp with the battery
Okay WTF is the yellow wire?16 Mar 2004 01:35 GMT1
I have a JVC HU, with a cd changer, the changer is mounted in the trunk, and
theres the Audio cable, and the DC cable running back there.  The DC cable
is Yellow, (I assume power, and black, I assume ground).  Well it always had
power, worked when there was no key in the ignition ...

Dear Friends: Greetings: I am a retired attorney. A few years ago a
man came to me with a letter. He asked me to verify the fact that this
was legal to do. I told him I would review it and get back to him.
When I first read the letter my client brought me, I thought it was

Autopage RS-65015 Mar 2004 02:24 GMT1
Had an old Excalibur Gold alarm with AS.  Since it died, I shopped
around and found a guy willing to give me an Autopage RS-650 for $300,
fully installed.  Is this a fair price?  I've found better systems on
ebay for less (RS-750 or 850 with the lcd pager for $160ish) but then
JL VR690-CXi vs. Focal 690HC15 Mar 2004 01:43 GMT1
I'm putting a pair of 6X9's in the tailgait of my '86 Volvo wagon and
I'm in no position to A/B these two candidates. I chose these companies
and models because they seem to have high quality components and these
models because they are the best each offers without going with an

Question about car radio/cassette wiring.14 Mar 2004 16:45 GMT2
I just bought a car radio/cassette player on ebay and it came with
more wires that you can shake a stick at.
I'm hoping that somebody will take pity on me and tell me where the
wires are supposed to go.
Center Channel in Console: good or bad for the sound stage?14 Mar 2004 16:23 GMT5
I was hoping to get some feedback/opinions on installing a center
channel in the console.  Will this improve or ruin the sound stage?
After all the center channel is a huge in home theatre!
I thought that if done properly it would help since it would reduce
Is this a typical ground loop/engine whine?14 Mar 2004 10:03 GMT4
I just installed a new amplifier into my 1991 Audi 200 Quattro and I'm
getting all kinds of noise that my old dead amplifier didn't make.
Head unit is grounded to the same seatbelt bolt that the amp is
grounded to.
high output alternators14 Mar 2004 08:28 GMT1
I was checking out a 200amp alternator for my 1999 Suburban. I see prices
from $230 up to $750? What would be the difference? ie Ohio Generator &
H-O-alternator are in the $750 range; mralternator.com is $250. They're all
new, not refurbished, so why such a price difference?
In-car built-in PC14 Mar 2004 07:58 GMT3
I just bought a Suburban that I want to add a video set up into. I am
particularly looking for ideas on an in-dash PC solution. I have room
for a 9 or 10 inch LCD built into the dash just below the radio.
I would like the PC to serve MP3 music to the existing sound system
Can I use my car stereo to amplify an MP3 player?14 Mar 2004 06:51 GMT2
I have a Kenwood KRC 302 car stereo with RCA jacks in the back.  It is
designed to control a CD changer.  I want to connect my MP3 player to
the RCA jacks but there is no way to enable the input unless a cd
changer is connected.
