| Speaker feedback/feedforward control | 13 Mar 2004 21:45 GMT | 13 |
I've got a question here that I think I'm right about, but need some verification. Here's the deal: I have a lab class in which one of the labs takes a speaker (DVC 6") and tries to extended the lower cutoff frequency by half an octave. Here's what we did: We connected one

| flip fronts and security | 13 Mar 2004 19:18 GMT | 5 |
As a seasoned veteran of car stereo theft (a victim, I should add, not a perpetrator) I normally buy car stereos with a removable front that I take of and keep with me when leaving the car. However, I notice that a lot of aftermarket head units these days have a

2003 Mustang - I had a set of JBL GTO 8606c (6x8) components up front in my stang - They're loud (a good rock speaker), but the highs were harsh (and the crossover is not adjustable). Overall, I just wasn't happy with 'em (they're being run

| Weird problem with subs | 13 Mar 2004 06:18 GMT | 14 |
Hi, I'm having some really strange problem with my subs in a 2003 Accord LX-G (Canadian model). I still have the factory stereo so I had to use speaker level inputs into my amp. My system is a Clarion APX400.2 amp with 2 Clarion dual voice coil 12" subs. My remote turn on wire ...

| Directed Amps | 13 Mar 2004 06:12 GMT | 3 |
So I am planning my next system for a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee which I will get later this year when available. So far I am going with a Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD and a Directed 600/5 Amp pushing probably some Alpine Type-R's (not sure what size yet). But I want to find more detailed ...

One of my '91 Honda Civic LX's rear speakers emits a buzzing/crackling sound at higher volumes. It's the original speaker, 13 years old. The back of the speaker clearly indicates that it's by Honda. It has a part number that checks with various

| high output alternators | 12 Mar 2004 21:15 GMT | 2 |
I was checking out a 200amp alternator for my 1999 Suburban. I see prices from $230 up to $750? What would be the difference? ie Ohio Generator & H-O-alternator are in the $750 range; mralternator.com is $250. They're all new, not refurbished, so why such a price difference?

I have the Audiovox radio on Sirius' service. Beginning this morning, every time I've started the car, the radio has played for 10 seconds or so, then gone into "updating streams" mode. It updates to 80%, never reaching 100%, then continues to play the stream that

| '95 Civic radio interference | 12 Mar 2004 13:54 GMT | 2 |
I have a '95 Civic with a recently installed Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD. The old radio had crummy reception, and I wanted a CD player, so this worked out. After a couple of weeks, the radio reception started going south again, so I replaced the antenna. That didn't seem to
