Older Alpine Vs. Newer Alpine HU's04 Apr 2004 16:03 GMT7
I have two systems setup almost the same way in an Acura Integra and a
Toyota 4runner. Both have Boston Pros for the front, and cheap Bostons for
rear fill. Each has a Boston Pro 12" sub in a sealed enclosure and both are
driven by an Xtant 603X each. There are two main differences ...

I don't want the guy that bid .99 to win, he's got negative feedback 5
times for not paying. Thanks. Trust me, these work good!
"Modifying" Dynaudio tweets?03 Apr 2004 20:33 GMT8
The tweets that came with my set of Dyns may be defective. If we have to get
new ones, the installer wants to try an install technique with them and I'm
worried about his methods. If you're familiar with the Dyn tweet (MD100?) that
comes in the System 240 MKII than you know about ...
Self-adjusting equalizers?03 Apr 2004 20:11 GMT10
Does anyone make an equalizer that will automatically adjust its
settings when connected to a real-time analyzer?  I was looking at the
AudioControl SA-3055 analyzer, and it has the capability to convert
your car's frequency response curve to an IASCA score.  If you could
Kenwood WOOX opinions please03 Apr 2004 19:29 GMT2
This sub looks like it might be a good fit for what I am looking for in my
car.  The price seems to be right.  Any experience out there with this sub.
BTW, I am not interested in waking up the neighborhood, just  a little bass
punch.

i'm considering the pyle pldvd170 in dash dvd player/fm radio.
Does anyone have any comments on their head units (as opposed to the
other thread regarding plye speakers)?
I'm looking at this product as it's the only in dash dvd with fm
Amp rear speakers or not?02 Apr 2004 07:48 GMT2
In my Honda, I have a JVC head unit that supposedly provides 19 watts per
channel RMS. I have added a subwoofer... A single 12" Alpine Type R in a
vented enclosure, powered by 400 watts RMS. I just replaced the stock
speakers up front with a set of Polk DB6500 components which sound ...
Power output of stock head unit on 2000 Ranger02 Apr 2004 06:08 GMT1
I have a 2000 XLT with the 4-door extended cab
and a no-name CD receiver. I listen to a lot of
jazz/R&B and the stock system, while adequate,
just does not cut it any more. I had pretty much
opinons, please: alpine 7995 vs. 799802 Apr 2004 05:24 GMT5
These are pretty aggressively discounted online: $300 for the 7995 and $500
for the 7998.  Is the 7998 worth the extra 2 bills?
dolby digital decoder01 Apr 2004 09:26 GMT5
I'm looking for a dolby digital decoder that takes in spdif and puts
out line level 5.1 6-channel.
Any clues?

Speakers in Series01 Apr 2004 03:09 GMT6
I have owned some Aura Bass Shakers in the past and I really love them
for their low freqency response.
My question is, if I have 2 bass shakers that are rated 50 Watts each,
and I hook them up in series to a 100 Watt sub channel from my
Sub enclosure, sealed, ported, what!?01 Apr 2004 02:17 GMT13
What is the biggest differance btw the diff type of sub enclosers? Not just

say I'm going for two JLaudio w6 v2's, in the trunk of a 96Avenger ES...?
What will each kind do? Maybe someoene will answer me ...
