Rookie question : Front speaker installation15 Apr 2004 23:07 GMT4
1999 honda accord.
I would like to install 4x6 speakers in the front.  According to every site
i find, they only recommend 6.5 (ie crutchfield, sounddomain, etc).  The
reason is...at my price point, I think the 4x6's sound better.
Amplifier and Subwoofer Installation Options15 Apr 2004 14:33 GMT3
I have a 4 channel head unit, with 2 sets of RCA outputs.  Currently,
it's operating in standard 4 channel mode with front and rear speakers
and no external amplifiers.

what am i doing wrong?15 Apr 2004 14:33 GMT3
I've now successfully blown two subwoofers.  The latest was an IDQ12 which
has a power handling of 350W.  I was giving it 358W according to my amp's
birthsheet.  I'm kind of confused as to why my subs aren't holding up.  I
do play some bass-heavy music (techno, bass, etc.) and I do ...
12w3v2 VS. 12w6v215 Apr 2004 03:40 GMT1
I have been talking about running three 12's. Has anyone heard the
difference between the w3v2's and the w6v2's? Is it worth the money? How
about the 10w6v2's VS 12w6v2's, would I be losing much low end on the setup?
I havnt heard eather and I am hoping there are some people out ...

CD-RB10 (Pioneer IP-Bus) work with Sirius Portable Cradle?14 Apr 2004 23:07 GMT2
This is probably a stupid question, but I have a Pioneer DEH-P5200.  I
don't want to FM modulate, but I want to go with the sirius portable
tuner / cradle that uses the RCA outputs (SIRPNP2 and SIRCK2).  Will
this work?  Thanks.
Question: Sony HU's SNR stats...14 Apr 2004 12:13 GMT5
OK, Sony Xplod, specifically their 120dB CD SNR stat far exceeds
competitors in the inexpensive price points.  How is Sony able to do this
when others don't?
Front speak install issue - Toyota T10014 Apr 2004 05:13 GMT1
Well, seems either I've been given some bad information or I'm completely
clueless which trying to install some new speakers.  I'm a car-audio

Lookin For Some Good Subs14 Apr 2004 02:03 GMT4
The subs I am looking for would be 12's. I was looking at the JL Audio
12W6v2's. But I am also looking at some alternatives to them. I plan on
putting in three and the need to be about 300-500 rms. not something cheap.
does anyone have any ideas. I was looking at the orion p series ...
Amp/sub wiring help14 Apr 2004 02:00 GMT7
I am in the process of trying to consolidate to one amp. I have a
cursory knowledge of car audio, but i am certainly in deference to the
people here in this forum.
I have a ppi pcx-480. Its specs are 4 x 80 at 4ohms and 4 x 160 at 2
4 inches midrange suggestions wanted13 Apr 2004 23:21 GMT20
Hello.  I decided on a 4 inches midrange for my next install.  The mids
will be actively band-passed between 200 Hz and about 3.5 kHz with
modest amplification and mounted in front door infinite baffle.
Below 200 Hz is covered by other drivers so mid-bass reproduction by the
Options for subs with high power handling13 Apr 2004 16:19 GMT7
A friend of mine is trying to minimize the subwoofer setup in his car. He
has a pair of Autotek sx1200 (1200W each @ 1ohm)
I am wondering what offerings are available to blend with his current power
setup. The JL 13W7 would work (roughly 800W per VC @ 1.5ohm) what else would
Parallel battery without an isolator?13 Apr 2004 16:02 GMT6
Hey folks!
Planning on getting a couple Stinger batteries. If I get two batteries
of the same kind/age, do I still need to get an isolator/regulator?
Trying to avoid additional equipment if I can help it.

Does a head unit's EQ affect the preamp'd signal as well?
Specifically: Sony CDX-F5705X.
