I am very new to car audio and most of what is discussed here is a bit

I have a Toyota Tacoma truck with a Clarion DXZ535CD Head unit and
Clarion 5 1/4" component speakers up front.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a company or a place where I could
buy a SEL conversion kit to install my own aftermarket deck? The only
conversion kits I have seen change the electronic HVAC control system
to a big dial system. I want to keep my electronic controls. Any ideas

I'm curious how a competitor with home-made equipment would be categorised at a
competition? Any judges out there that can tell me if my home made amps and
processors would be allowed to run? Is there more than one sanctioning body,
each with different rules?

I attempted to mount the SIRCK1 docking station for the AudioVox
SIRPNP2 Sirius satellite receiver in my car.  The SIRCK1 comes with 3M
mounting tape and I followed the instructions for installing it
carefully.  The tape adhered to the car dash, but the tape did not

Kinda strange that Sony is selling all these "XM Ready" HUs, but

My dad has a 95 Tahoe and he only gets engine noise ( AM  dont know about
FM ) obviuosly when the engine is on. If the ignition is on ACC no noise.
He has had this problem since he got the truck, Dealer said they added 2
ground leads to the radio and changed the antenna, he has delt ...

I am trying to hook up RCA plugs to the back of my ford taurus 2000
SEL MACH (I believe MACH 6) factory spec deck in order to get some
quality sound. If you havn't seen this deck, its insane because its
mold for the car is so specific, it seems impossible to replace.

I am currently running two 175Wnom 300Wmax 10" 8-ohm subs in parallel to
form a 4-ohm load.
I am running it off two of my four channels from a 1500W amp. The two
channels are bridged to supply 300Wrms.

Could anyone tell me how you wire a component speaker system?
If you get a midrange and a tweeter and a crossover for each channel, do
you split one channel between the midrange and tweeter?  Or is it best
to have a separate channel for the midrange and the tweeter?
