Does anyone know if you can buy DIY head unit kits anywhere?  Similar
to building your own PC or laptop—you buy the empty case add your own
circuit boards & components.  I cannot imagine that every brand of car
audio builds their own head unit chassis (or tuners or CD drives, for

i am picking up a used 2000 golf, that has the factory am/fm/cassette
head unit (not monsoon).  the car is prewired for a changer, which i
know won;t sound as good as better aftermarket redos of the whole
system.  question -- is it worth having the car redone to change out

When I run separate RCAs from the HU to each amp everything is fine.
But, I get a turn off pop when I connect the RCA output from my one
amp to the input of the other amp.  The reason why I want to connect
the output of one amp to input of other is that my sub amp is a Kicker

I'm getting ready to install a Kenwood system.  My main power drains are a 4
channel 80 watt x 4 amp, and a monoblock 120 watts x 1 amp for a 10" sub.  I
don't drive my system hard or too loud.  I was wondering if I need a
capacitor?  Also, if I bring a power cable from the battery ...

I just installed a pair of Pyle 6x9" model PLG693 triaxials in the
backshelf of my 03 Impala, and to be quite honest, I noticed
absolutely NO difference better or worse.  I only paid $56 incl.
