I was feeling my way around the back of the CD-deck in my car (ie,
wasn't keen to pull it out until ready) in order to answer the following
questions for myself :
1) Does it have an Aux in.

new Kenwood Excelon KDC-X679 HU,  a KAC-X541 4 channel amp, Sirius tuner,
Orion amp, Polk Momo 6 x 9 speakers in front, older Polks 6 x 9's in the

any headunits that don't produce gaps between mp3s?24 Jan 2005 16:47 GMT8
I'm looking for a headunit that is able to play mp3s without providing
moments of silence between each mp3 to load the next one.  I don't see why
manufacturers can't figure out how to do this.
Does anyone know of any that have this capability or one of the 05 models
wire routing to amp.24 Jan 2005 13:58 GMT3
Ok, so I am slowly making progress on my install.  Got the 4ga wire ran from

am planning on running the Riot-Gamma wires from amp ...
Bridge sound23 Jan 2005 17:33 GMT6
I'm trying to get a bridge sound from a new 600W amp.
Gee...it's totally sh.t. Bridget sound is really a broken
sound created by the low filter amp. Why anyone wants to enjoy
this? I know bass is good but too much bass is a trash.
Off topic,..funniest thing ever23 Jan 2005 16:13 GMT6
Call me cruel but this is the funniest thing ive seen all year. This kid has
a mental break down on his webcam. I dont know what this has to do with
anything...but it makes me feel a lot better about myself.
subwoofer upgrade?23 Jan 2005 14:33 GMT8
I have a JL 250 mono amp with a JL 10w3.  I want to upgrade to a 10w6,
but use the same amp.  Will there be an improvement in sound without
getting a bigger amp?
Deck without lead on.23 Jan 2005 05:01 GMT5
My friends deck doesnt have a lead on switch to go to an amplifier.
But since he wants to add an amp, im kinda wondering how i would go
about putting a switch between the battery and the amp itself, but i
dont want to put too much power into the amp through the switch..  so
I got ripped off!22 Jan 2005 01:36 GMT10
My local shop (House of Car Stereo Lansing MI) sold me a new set of 5.25s
for the front about 3 months ago. Just for the hell of it I tested my old
speakers at school. They both meter fine. What would you do? I guess I do
have the new model blaopunkts.....still.....

Just replaced the stereo in my  car (Subaru Liberty GX 1994) with a pioneer

AM radio is very crackly and noisy when the engine is turned on. If the
ignition is in the Accessories position AM radio is ...

Does anybody here have experience with either Stinger Expert series or MTX
Expert series interconnects?  Where did you find your best price?  How is
the performance from a soind quality and RFI/EMI noise perspective?  Or,

Is there a comprehensive website or magazine that lists all brands (& their models)?20 Jan 2005 00:36 GMT3
It's a pain having to drive to countless stores and scouring everywher
to see what all is out there.  There has to be some sort of definitiv
source for car audio decks, speakers, amps, etc...  I'm trying to fin

How does a speaker work?20 Jan 2005 00:25 GMT8
Okay, I understand the very basics of speaker operation: the amplifier sends
