My son's first car : 1995 Mercury mystique. I want to install speakers in both doors. I did a few of those 'what fits my car' things, and it seems that 6x8's go in both locations. I got instructions from Crutchfield. 6x8 fit in the rear doors, but I am not sure about the front ...

I've been lurking this group for a while, and am by no means an expert audio person; please keep that in mind if my questions seem a bit naive. I have a 97 Mazda MX-6. Focal 165K in front, stock 5X7 in rear, 2 12" RF DVC subs in prefab 1.25 cu. sealed enclosures.

I've got one of those cassettes that you plug into a portable CD player or whatever to send sound through a car stereo and it works OK except that the volume is really low. At full volume on the stereo and on the source (I've tried a Walkman and an iPod), I can just about hear the
