Guys,
I have a Toyota 4Runner. The stock stero is not bad, CD/tape , 8
speakers but it cuts spakers out. When I go in turns they come back on

wire insulation cut out by manufacturer08 Aug 2005 16:39 GMT2
I just purchased a Jensen car radio. About an inch and a half from the end
of all the wires in the back (power, ground, speaker, antenna, etc.) there
is a band of insulation that has been cut out which exposes the bare wire.
What is the purpose of this?    Bob

I just got a Monte Carlo (87 model) and I'm wondering if 2 of these subs
would sound good in it. I have a power akoustik 1600w amp, would this be
a good system? How much should the subs run me? I'm looking to spend
Weird problem - No amp output at higher volumes06 Aug 2005 20:19 GMT23
I have an Audiobahn A2300HCT 2400w rms amp and an A1208T sub in my car.
Today, I was riding along listening to a song at a little above my normal
listening level, and all of the sudden, my sub cut out. I turned the stereo
down to around 13 (it was on 22), and the sub cut back on. ...
Alpine CDA9827 cutting out06 Aug 2005 16:00 GMT5
I have an Alpine CDA-9827, I'm running the RCA's to 2 amps in my trunk.
Problem is, the sound cuts out, it just dies..  Amps are up and
running, and the HU display looks normal.  If I'm playing a CD, the
time keeps ticking, mp3 bitrates on VBR's flicker around like it's
Remote start pulse too short.06 Aug 2005 15:03 GMT3
New remote start alarm, pulse is of very short duration and will not start
the car. It seems to have a fixed duration pulse and doesn't pulse until it
gets feed back. What are my options? Thinking about adding a latching relay,
timer and circuit to latch and hold for XX seconds ...
To sub or not ( I prefer real, tuneful bass rather than one note mega thump) 05 Aug 2005 23:09 GMT2
I am about to upgrade the audio in a 1986 Benz 300E from the original Becker
radio. There are 4 4" speakers 2 front 2 rear. The front ones sound good ,
the rear ones very poor. There is an Alpine 6cd changer in the trunk feeding
the Becker thru FM.

Chevy Cavalier aftermarket CD player?05 Aug 2005 14:21 GMT1
I've been wanting to install a cd player in my 2000 Chevy Cavalier,
but I have a few questions.  For one, I've heard that its not possible
to install a cd player in this make and model due to something with the
electronics of the vehicle.  Is this true?  If not, what is ...
Tapping Into Switched Power04 Aug 2005 21:54 GMT2
I'm installing headrest monitors and a PlayStation in my Explorer. I've got
it pretty well figured out with one exception. I can't figure out how to
find 12V power that's switched on and off with the ignition key. Easiest
hookup is to tap into the circuit for the cigar lighters, ...
Bypassing safety feature on the Pioneer   AVH-P5700DVD     04 Aug 2005 04:04 GMT9
I understand the safety issue involved but just annoyed that everytime I want
to watch a DVD the truck has to have the emergency brake on.  I was hoping
that one of you guys would be willing to share the secret of being able to
have DVD's playing while actually driving.  the deck on ...
RDS capable stereos03 Aug 2005 22:07 GMT8
Hello group,
I don't know if this has been asked before. I'm looking to upgrade my
existing pioneer cd player and since I've recently learned of RDS I was
wondering what Brands/models have this as a feature. I was looking to stick
Cap or Second Battery?03 Aug 2005 07:24 GMT48
For the price of a decent Cap I could easily get a battery or two to
run my sound system. I'll be running about 2000RMS so assume double
that for peak power and I'll need a 4 farad cap. But on the other hand
if I get a second battery I'll have plenty of power right there. Will
Power problems.03 Aug 2005 03:30 GMT5
I just put a used Rockford Fosgate 200.4 amp in my little POS ford
ranger. Sounds great but now the truck runs rough and stalls at low
rpms with the amp on. It runs better once the truck warms up, but still
cuts out. The truck runs fine when I cut the amp off. Any ideas? Not
