Clarion went downhill06 Sep 2005 04:03 GMT3
What happened to Clarion? I was checking out some of their more
higher priced models of head units, and I noticed they are
getting uglier and uglier each year. Not only that, I've also
noticed that many of their newer head units only have 2 volt
A few technical questions06 Sep 2005 00:29 GMT6
I have a few not so everyday RAC technical questions:
1. Are there any car amp manufacturers that make an amp with
digital crossovers? I want to be able to adjust my crossover
points right down to a tee.
one amp for all?05 Sep 2005 17:47 GMT2
Is it that bad to run comps and a sub koda10 with a 4 channel amp.
I was told to use two amps but if it's a well built amp why not?

Rear Fill Frequency Preference05 Sep 2005 17:07 GMT1
By complete accident when I configured my current setup I only sent the
midrange frequencies to my amp that drives my real fill speakers (5.25 Focal
coaxials).  I've always had my rear fills playing the entire frequency
spectrum, besides using a HP filter of around 100Hz or so.   ...
cap on amp05 Sep 2005 13:57 GMT22
I just installed a Profile HA1040 in my Subaru WRX to power the main
speakers.  The car has a new battery and I ran good wire as short as
possible from the battery to the amp.  When the car idles the sound drops
out for half a second and comes back up.  I know my alternator is ...
Question regarding sound deadening05 Sep 2005 02:54 GMT7
Hypothetically speaking, what improvements in SQ and/or SPL
would I notice if I Dynamatted my entire interior? When I say
entire, I'm talking about all of the the doors, the hatch area,
the rear seat panels, the insides of the front doors, and even
Completely Confused..05 Sep 2005 02:04 GMT2

audiobahn amps04 Sep 2005 20:16 GMT14
My old Rockford Fosgate Punch 600iv just took a crap, and I'm looking
for something relatively inexpensive (but at least nominally competent)
to toss in to replace it.  It was driving a set of Polk 5.25"
components in the doors and a pair of JL Audio 8W1-D4s wired

Bass test results [was:"No bass when windows are up"]04 Sep 2005 01:38 GMT6
Sorry for the delay, for those interested I now have some results regarding bass
output with the windows open. First a baseline was recorded with the windows up
then several other configurations were tested for comparison. I only made a few
sweeps from 10Hz to 200Hz in each ...
removing car door panels without damaging paint?03 Sep 2005 19:17 GMT3
I recently used a tool similar to this one to remove the door panels of
my Accord, to replace my speakers.

It seems almost impossible to get the tool under the tool panel without
