| Radio's gone doolally... | 27 Nov 2005 16:24 GMT | 15 |
Started up the car this morning and the radio came on as usual (I usually have it defaulting to 'on'); however, the normal music and chat was accompanied by a high-pitched 'beep' about once very second. I've switched on and off, disabled all the radio's clever functions, but

| Diversity vs. Whip antenna -- which is better? | 24 Nov 2005 15:21 GMT | 3 |
Actually my question should be "in-glass heating element antenna" vs whip antenna.... I just had a Pioneer head unit installed in my BMW. The previous stock "Business CD" unit used a diversity antenna system of two (maybe three)

| Hifonics TX 8805 - 220x4 RMS? Misprint? | 23 Nov 2005 09:22 GMT | 2 |
On their website Hifonics claims the TX 8805 is 220watts x4 at 2ohms and 110watts x4 at 4ohms. I'm suspicious this has to be peak power, not continuous, or did I just stumble across an unbelievable power monster? The link below goes to product list that claims 110 x4 RMS @ 4 ohm.

I have a Pioneer 8600MP radio, and with the AM stations I get some sort of noise that gets louder as the engines rpms increase. It doesn't happen with stations that are very close. Anyway to fix this? Thanks.

| Need advise: is a Pioneer TS-W3004SPL overkill for 440 watts rms? | 20 Nov 2005 15:52 GMT | 2 |
Is this sub more than I need. I'll have 440 watts rms at 4 ohms from a bridged Hifonics amp. The 12" TS-W3004SPL is rated 3000watts max / 1000 nominal. Pioneer also has their 12" TS-W306C sub rated at 1000 watts max / 400 rms at 4 ohms. Which do you think would be better matched to
