Alternative enclosure material (instead of fiberglass)?28 Aug 2006 02:40 GMT1
Are there any good materials for making custom shaped subwoofer
enclosures, other than fiberglass?
Ideally I'd like to make a mold out of fiberglass, and then use a
different material that is cheaper and easier/faster to cure...
Scarcity of in-dash hard drive players28 Aug 2006 01:52 GMT14
What is stopping manufacturers from selling affordable in-dash hard drive
units with the same functionality (and price) as portable MP3 players? Is
there some marketing/licensing cabal working against these products? Are
they victims of consumer ignorance; people thinking it's ...

Obviously if you can read this, there is no problem, but apparently some

Again, if anyone knows why some people can read the text of my messages and
others cannot I would REALLY like to know.  I use MS Outlook Express as my
MOSFET's posts28 Aug 2006 00:01 GMT5
I can't see them. When I click on them all I get is a message that says
"Message no longer available on server". This happens with a couple of other
guys, too. Maybe it is sabotage, LOL.

dead speakers27 Aug 2006 17:31 GMT1
I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix SE and while driving to work the other
day, 2 of the speakers died (front left and right rear).  The car
stereo is a factory model with a cd player.  Any ideas what it could be
and how to troubleshoot?
Testing 1...2...3....27 Aug 2006 15:17 GMT1
I hope everyone is getting this.  I suppose it's silly to say "please let me
know if you are not", but apparently there may be some problems with my
posts.  If anyone knows why, PLEASE let me know.
Thanks,

2002 Chevy Blazer Amp Install Through Firewall27 Aug 2006 09:31 GMT2
I just purchased an amp and need to run the power line from the car
battery through the firewall to my amp. I looked under the hood and
around the driver and passenger's side, but couldn't see any obvious
place to pass the wire through. I pulled back the driver's side carpet

VolvoS40.Stereo.Updgrade26 Aug 2006 04:29 GMT1
Weird bird here. I have accepted the fact that I will have to retain the
factory head. Can I tap into the rear speakers to add a sub? Also, any ideas
on integrating my IPod other than an RF transmitter?
Custom MP3 car audio solution26 Aug 2006 02:00 GMT60
I have an old system that I want to strip out & make into a Windows XP
box that does nothing but house MP3's of my entire CD collection, &
play them through Winamp.  However, I want this in my van.  I've been
looking at ways to do this inexpensively, & I found the iMON VFD bundle
subwoofer placement in trunk25 Aug 2006 14:34 GMT10
Question about sub placement in trunk: I have nowhere I can put a sub in the
car. And the gas tank plus tons of fittings preventing me from porting
anything from the trunk to the interior.
What is a trunk subwoofer? Can it be used in any way successfully WITHOUT a

Has anyone here had any success installing an aftermarket hardwired FM
