home stereo system in a vehicle???31 Mar 2007 21:22 GMT8
Alright now. Is there any reason one cannot install a home stereo in a
vehicle...rv...van... and powered from a inverter? Aside from bouncing
the unit senseless... i see no reason. You could get a low end
surround sound system for 250 and a monitor an have an insane rv
Complete System30 Mar 2007 23:36 GMT6
I've just recently gotten into car audio. I know many of you really
know your equipment.
How does one go about choosing the right stuff for your vehicle? I
can't believe how much is out there to choose from.
Sub help for a 2000 Toyota 4Runner (help a brother out)29 Mar 2007 04:45 GMT2
I recently found myself driving a much larger car than my last piece
of crap (a 1998 Eclipse).  I had a decent but extremely outdated
system in that car (Aiwa MP3 - first gen, MB Quart doors and back seat
and MTX 10" sub all pushed by a 5 channel Alpine amp).

Me and a friend of mine both have the old school Kicker C12-4 i know
these subs can pound pretty good given the right amount of wattage but
im not quite sure what the specs for an enclosure are for them. I've
tried googling them but they wont show up and so i was wondering if
Door baffles - what works best?26 Mar 2007 19:34 GMT15
What are some of your opinions on door baffles?  What is the best
material that can isolate the front of the speaker from the back and
at the same time eliminate most of the rattling?  plywood, fiberglass,
dynamat, b-quiet, mdf, or any other material that works?

Sub repair22 Mar 2007 00:00 GMT8
As well as my Jensen amp I got a sw3 10" Subwoofer DRS 350 watts.
However I've just noted that the cone is damaged and indented.
I tried to pull the dent out with a vacumn cleaner but it didn't have
enough suction.

I have a new sony cdx-gt310 car audio system which appears to be
"standard" size in to my ford fiesta, but the existing radio is a ford
standard and is twice the size of the new one. How can I fit the new
one properly?
2000 Dodge stratus, aftermarket stereo -> only low volume (high tones)20 Mar 2007 11:49 GMT1
I installed an aftermarket Sony radio into my 2000 Dodge Stratus.
Although the fader and balance control work prefectly fine I cannot
get adequate volume. The speakers in the door do not seem to work and
the rear speakers only give high volume sound. I used a wire harness
Physical CD simulator for MP3 player output20 Mar 2007 07:43 GMT3
I'm wondering if anyone has come across a device that simulates a
physical CD for the purpose of connecting the device to my MP3 player.
In other words something equivalent to the cassette adapters that have
been around for a while, but for a CD player.

Any way to improve FM reception of factory-installed satellite radio?20 Mar 2007 01:32 GMT3
I have an Audi Q7 with the factory-installed head unit, including a
Sirius tuner.  The car has a small, roof-mounted antenna which seems
to be optimized for satellite reception, but does a really poor job of
FM reception.  The volume of an FM station sounds as if it is
Parallel Vs Bridging19 Mar 2007 22:41 GMT5
What produces better bass Bridging or Wiring your Subs in parallel.
Could you do have both wired at the same time.
Having the subs wired parallel and having the amp bridged
