remote control car starter04 Oct 2004 07:12 GMT5
I have installed autocommand add-on remote car starter on my 2000 CRV.
I can start the engine by pressing the lock button on the remote fine.
The problem is that since the remote is disabled when the car is
running, I can't stop the engine by remote. I was wondering if anyone

HP vs. Torque03 Oct 2004 19:29 GMT3
All--
Proly been asked before, I'm sure...
But I'm curious as to what exactly in an engine design makes an
engine more "torquey".
Can fuel pump leak into engine oil03 Oct 2004 18:53 GMT10
My VW Polo 1982 is using excessive amounts of fuel, I get only around
10km/litre.
All seems up to spec, ignition distributor is working fine, new breaker,
plugs and filters, and the engine runs just fine. But it uses up to 50% too
yellow line03 Oct 2004 14:36 GMT5
I managed to get a tire (briefly) on a freshly painted yellow line while
driving my GMC
home last night. The paint seems to have a lot of sand in it. I know it was
dumb. Any
Transmission shifts very hard03 Oct 2004 09:45 GMT22
When I accelerate from a stop the car SLAMS into 2nd gear. I have to go
light on the gas when it's about to shift or it will chirp the tires. Do
you think it's the torque converter? Isn't there a cable that goes to
the throttle body that tells the transmission when to shift? ...
1988 Mazda 323 with starter nosecone in bell housing?!03 Oct 2004 06:43 GMT1
I've been told by a local mechanic that a piece of the starter
nosecone broke off and fell into the bell housing of the (manual)
transmission. He claims the tranny will need to be pulled to fix it,
at considerable expense (around 4 hours shop time). I've never heard
HELP!  -  Probably an easy question...03 Oct 2004 05:56 GMT4
I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe and just today I started having this problem
where when I turn the seat heater on it works normally for about 10-15
seconds then shuts itself off.  The problem occurs on all heat
settings on both passenger and driver seat heaters.  I replaced the
'90 New Yorker Code 4303 Oct 2004 05:43 GMT1
Hi all!!
My 90 New Yorker 3.3L is showing a code 43. The decode page shows more than
one cause pertaining to either iginition coil, or cylinder misfiring. The
car seems to start and run fine. Spark plugs and wires are about a year old.
Help...mass air flow sensor error code03 Oct 2004 04:22 GMT3
We drove about 250 miles from the Willamette Valley to Pendleton, OR.
The next day the car threw a code. I was able to get into a AAA garage.
I was told for peace of mind they could diagnose but not fix the problem
as they were backed up. So we paid $30.00 bucks and got the code. ...
Dodge D50 Ram PU - how do I get the alternator apart?03 Oct 2004 04:03 GMT3
Mitsubichi 2.6 engine. It's the 45Amp, A2T02471 if that makes a
difference.
Everything is unscrewed and unbolted but the windings seem like they
are welded to the diode pack and don't allow enough room to unbolt the
Faster to 60?03 Oct 2004 00:54 GMT10
I'm trying to compare two cars which are mostly identical. They weigh
the same; have identical bodies; identical engines with the same hp;
torque and hp and torque peak rpms; both 4 cylinders/16 valves;
identical automatic transmissions; identical final drive ratios but one
international truck speedometer03 Oct 2004 00:12 GMT2
We have a 1990 International Truck model 4700 with an inoperative
speedometer and tachometer. A local shop says the whole instrument
cluster must be replaced at over 900 dollars.  Is the speedo and tach
cable operated or is the shop right saying it is an electrical circuit
1972: SAE Gross --> SAE Net HP figures - how did the 'configuration' change?02 Oct 2004 23:04 GMT5
It seems that the Gov mandated all advertised HP figures be stated as
SAE Net as of '72 (and still holds today AFAIK). Figures dropped
across the board by roughly ~25% or so give or take that year.
How was the engine basically configuration for each type of test?
