Anybody know where I can locate a PROM image for an '86 S10? I've looked at diy-efi and other places but can't find the particular one I need. Failing that, anybody have an 86 S10 pickup with a 2.5l TBI, auto trans?

Should the oil change interval be based on run time and not miles? Most recommend changing oil every xxx miles but they also quote a interval of xx months. Most seem to ignore the xx months. Some folks only drive 4-5k per year.

My girlfriend blew the head gasket on her 1997 Chevy S-10 (2.2 engine, 2 wheel drive, regular cab) by driving with a bad water pump. Yes, I know unbelievable. The truck has 140,000 and is otherwise in better than average

I have a 97 probe gt with a stuck egr valve, and the mechanic wants 1800 to replace it bc it is attached to the throttle body. Is there anything I can do to avoid replacing it ? Such as spraying a cleaner or solvent in the intake ? Currently the car runs poorly and stalls at traffic ...

What is the role of ignition condenser in a traditional 'points' based ignition system? And what is the role (if any) of a condenser in an electronic conversion 'kit' in an older 'points' based ignition system?

Given a Chevy 350 for example - what exactly is the functional purpose in lay terms of the Balancer or Damper on the front end of the crank? Also what affect does it's size or diameter have on it's functionality?
