Radiator fan switch on 98 Chrysler T&C keeps failing12 Dec 2004 09:20 GMT2
This is a continuation of a previous post a few years ago. I have a 98
Chrysler Town & Country with a 3.8 L engine. The solid state relay that
controls the radiator fans is mounted on the driver side wheel well. I
am replacing this relay for the 4th time and getting tired of ...
"Full Synthetics"12 Dec 2004 07:57 GMT5
It may come as a shock to some but "Full" is not the same as "100%".
The brands that have that on the lable want to make you get the
impression that it is. It's not illegal because there is no rule that
says anything about a minimum amount of synthetics before it's called
Different types of crankshaft radius - what's the (dis)advantage?11 Dec 2004 23:06 GMT2
I was looking at various models of crankshafts and noticed there are 3
different types of implementing a radius. My technical English isn't
very good, so I made an image that clearly shows the 3 different types:

100,000 mile vehicle ok?11 Dec 2004 22:59 GMT9
I am needing to replace my 89 f-150 with something I can carry family
in only once in a while. (We are expecting our second child in a few
weeks). The wife's car is the "primary family vehicle".
I would really like a 4x4 and was thinking a used suv but cost is a
check engine light on Ford Ranger11 Dec 2004 22:25 GMT1
I have a 95 4cyl,5spd  Ford Ranger with 89k miles and the Check Engine light
has come on. The truck runs perfect. What could set off the light? I have a
Haynes book, but they make it sound like for a 95 and on, I won't be able to
check the codes without a scan tool. In fact I ...
DYI Manuals Re: Crown Victoria11 Dec 2004 17:40 GMT5
It seems my choice of inexpensive DYI manuals for a '99 CV is between
the Haynes issue that covers years '88 thru '00 and the Chilton's issue
that only goes up to '98.  I prefer Chilton's to Haynes, do not expect
to be performing any "heavy duty" jobs on my Ford, but would like a
95 s10 blazer freeze plug11 Dec 2004 13:02 GMT9
My 95 S10 has just blown steam all over the place.
While it was in the vicinity of the water pump on the driver side front of
the block, I can see water running out of the bottom of a freeze plug out of
two small holes it looks like.  Now the question... how does one go about
Synthetic vs. Dino11 Dec 2004 00:40 GMT4
Any opinions about the performance of these two oil chemistries?
Speedometer doesn't work, transmission hesistant shifting.10 Dec 2004 20:58 GMT3
I have a 1994 Buick Century with a 3.1 V-6 and a 4 speed OD automatic.
Yesterday my analog speedometer wouldn't function. My transmission
also would not shift out of first until the "Service Engine Soon"
light came on and then the transmission acted smoothly again. When I
FYI on new Honda OE oil filters10 Dec 2004 19:34 GMT8
Changed the oil on the wife's '04 Element yesterday.  Paid 14 BUCKS
for the filter at my local stealer.  It says "Made by FRAM" on the
side.
I cut one open.  The filter element uses cardboard endcaps like normal
was I overcharged for catalytic converter?10 Dec 2004 19:33 GMT30
This is my first post here.  I have a 97 Toyota Rav 4 which was just
in the shop for a whole ton of work.  The bill came to $2800.  My boss
is convinced that I was overcharged and took my bill to her own
mechanic to get his opinion.  He said that with one exception, the
Can a mini spare throw off you alignment?10 Dec 2004 18:11 GMT34
I got a flat the other day in the front right, slapped on the spare
and drove maybe 15 miles or so before replacing it.  After getting my
car back I noticed the front alignment was WAY off.  Bad enough I
thought they'd forgotten to tighten the lugnuts and my wheel was falling

Cruise control quits10 Dec 2004 06:26 GMT5
My wifes 2000 Chrysler Cirrus is having cruise control problems.  It
works fine but sometimes will just shut off and not return.  When it
happens, the litte cruise control light on the dash eventually goes
out.  Once the car is turned off, it usually works fine again for
1995 Ford Aerostar - No Start10 Dec 2004 03:06 GMT8
I am having a problem with a 1995 Ford Aerostar, 3.0L, 130k miles.  The
engine will crank, but it won't start.  I'm getting 39 lbs of fuel
pressure at the fuel rail.  I checked one plug wire, and it is getting
spark.  Can a bad hall effect sensor give me these symptoms?  If so, can
