Geo Metro R wheel bearings keep failing02 Feb 2005 00:17 GMT7
I've replaced wheel bearings on the same rear wheel about 5 times. They only
last a few weeks to a few months. The first failure spun in the hub so I had
to replace the drum/hub. The spindle looks ok. The last time I got another
used hub, first one was new.  I was thinking that some ...

Can I use regular oil or does it have to be symthetic oil? This is for
a Sable.

sensors has bit the bullet.  In case someone has another idea what ...

Idle problem after battery change01 Feb 2005 21:59 GMT5
I changed the battery in my highly maintained 94 Lumina 3.1 after I
noticed that it was cranking slow on cold days. It had been running perfect
with a rock solid 800 rpm idle.
I had to remove the air box and connector to the airbox hose to get the

i have a 1996 2.0 liter 4 cylinder Ford Probe that will not pass
California smog because the computer is not storing any codes. it
passes the actual emissions tests with flying colors, the problem is
that the smog tech needs to see that the computer has gone through a
Front suspension noise in Saturn.01 Feb 2005 18:29 GMT3
We just test drove a '95 Saturn SL2 4 door.
Every time we drove it over a speedbump the front suspension made what
I can only discribe as a crunching sound.
Any ideas what that could have been?

Vacuum brake bleeding01 Feb 2005 15:13 GMT19
I was trying to bleed my 95 Cherokee brakes, but the fluid hardly
comes out.
I thought of vacuum bleeding, but I wonder how much vacuum do I need.
I don't have a pump, but can I use my household vacuum cleaner as

Hard Brake Pedal when cold01 Feb 2005 13:19 GMT4
'91 Mazda 626 2.2 not turbo.
On especially cold mornings, when I first start out, the brake pedal
is hard as a brick and very high, like the vacuum assist isn't
working.  It stays that way for 100 - 200 yards and two or three uses
Gutting catalytic converter01 Feb 2005 11:14 GMT18
Is the gas flow through a factory converter better with, or without, the
honeycomb filling?
Some people say it's good to remove all or part of the insides, others say
that will make the gases stall in the chamber. But some cars have an
