Mazda Protogege Radio Removal18 Feb 2005 04:16 GMT9
I have inserted four knitting needles into the 4 "removal" openings
behind the two side bezels in my wife's 2001 Protoge, so I can remove
the radio to fix an intermittent display.  But, the radio seems as
tightly fixed in the dash as before I inserted the needles into the
Olds Cierra interior fan stays on18 Feb 2005 03:41 GMT5
The interior heat/AC fan on my 87 Olds Cierra remains on high
regardless of interior switch positions or ignition position. I have to
unplug it under the hood when I turn the car off so it doesn't drain
the battery. Would this be a blower motor problem (short?) or a problem

For quite a long time now the horn on our 1987 Toyota van hasn't worked.
However, we don't normally use it so it really hasn't been a problem.  Well,

question about reading an Ohmmeter16 Feb 2005 14:24 GMT9
I was checking spark plug wires with my ohmmeter and just want to make
sure I know what I am looking at:
When I set my meter at 20k ohms and measure an 18 inch plug wire, one
wire reads 1.09 which I interpret to be 10,900 ohms which would be ok
Out-of-State Speeding Ticket16 Feb 2005 08:56 GMT13
This week I had to make a rush trip to Virginia to visit a dear Uncle who
had a heart attack.  Had to speed up to pass a slow moving truck and just as
I got around him, coming the other way was a State Trooper..  at the time I
was doing 65 MPH,, sadly I found out I was in a 55MPH ...
Truck Cuts Off Question16 Feb 2005 08:04 GMT6
Hi, my 1996 Sonoma just cuts off sometimes when I am driving.  After
this happens, the car will not start.  When I turn the key, it acts
like it wants to start, tries, but just won't.  If I wait about 10 - 15
minutes, the car will start.  Sometimes, I am lucky and it will start

We have a 1993 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer, it has the V6 and is supposed
to be 4x4, but that doesn't work (nothing happens when you push the
button). We picked up the car to use around town, we have a nasty
driveway in the winter as well.

still around?15 Feb 2005 21:36 GMT1
Back in the late '70s, I recall running across fleets of small pickups with
small diesel engines in them (Nissan, Tohatsu, Isuzu, etc).  All I saw were
stick shift, and got phenomenal road fuel mileage.  Although small, they
were sprung like a billy goat (really stiff suspensions), ...
good tires in "non-performance" size?15 Feb 2005 21:17 GMT12
as you may know I just bought a '55 Stude Commander...  looking for
recommendations for tires.  Stock size is 6.70-15 which means I need to
be looking at something like a 205/75R15.  I priced out some WWW radials
and I think I am looking at blackwalls. :)  That said are there any ...
