| Does Velocity Performance Module work? | 30 Apr 2005 06:35 GMT | 3 |
I just saw on Ebay an ad (link below) for a "Velocity Performance Module" for about $25. It reads as if it reprograms your ECU (PCM?) similar to what HyperTech's $300 system does. Anyone had experience with one of these systems?

I have a friend who was thinking about switching from conventional motor oil to a synthetic blend. He has a 2000 chevy pickup, 55K miles and doesn't use any oil. I didn't think it was a good idea, but wasn't sure if it would cause any

| Requesting help to identify diagnostic tools | 30 Apr 2005 00:13 GMT | 1 |
I recently received a 'grab bag' of stuff from a friend that's moving out of state and didn't want to bother packing it. It contained two automotive diagnostic tools that I'd appreciate more information on. 1. A Mac Tools ET120. It looks to be a powered circuit tester with

| Why two upstream O2 sensors? | 29 Apr 2005 14:12 GMT | 1 |
What's the rationale of having 2 upstream (fuel/air mix control) O2 sensors instead of one? Some cars with 5+ liter engines have only one, others with 3.x have two. Does that imply there is asymetrical air flow to cylinders? Peter

| Can harmonic ballancer be welded? | 29 Apr 2005 07:56 GMT | 3 |
My harmonic balancer must have been a bit loose at some point; On changing the timing belt, I noticed that the keyway is chewed up where the woodruff key should engage. Normally I would pick up a used one from a junkyard, but this car is too

Have a 99 toyota tacoma( (2.4-4) - a recent purchase that I'd like to put a cr. control in. I note that there is a genuine toyota part available online (about $250 us) and rostra controls has one available as well. I'm guessing that the toyota part would be straightforward vs the ...

| tire wear, one wheel only? | 29 Apr 2005 02:47 GMT | 10 |
After we bought (privately) our ('99) Cavalier, we found that it had been "totalled" earlier in its life. Alas. Mostly, this hasn't been a problem. However, the LF tire has excessive tread wear on the inside corner - to the point of needing replacement after ~15K miles.

Know nothing of cars (electrical person) - used public transportation all my life. Why is that 95% of passenger cars in the US are gasoline, yet diesel used in much of Europe? I read somewhere diesel is more efficient, plus unlike gas
