| air conditioning | 09 Jun 2005 05:15 GMT | 4 |
I purchased a 2005 Hundai Accent with a built-in air conditioner. This is the first time in my life that I ever drove a car with an air conditioner. My question is this: Suppose my car has been parked for five hours. If I turn on my air-conditioner one minute after starting

I have a 1981 F-150 with 302 motor and automatic transmission. Bought it a few months ago from a guy whose condo association made him get rid of it. The fuel filter is the sort that screws into the carburetor. While replacing it I managed to damage the threads in the carburetor ...

A family member just bought a 1999 Jaguar. It is the Vanden Plaz signature, but I am not sure what else it is. Says it is a straight 6 cylinder. Has 40,000 miles and paid less than $15,000.

| Air conditioning vs DRL | 08 Jun 2005 20:42 GMT | 40 |
At one point, it was suggested that disabling DRL's was a fuel saving issue, and calculations show that for a large numbers of cars and miles driven, there is a finite savings in fuel. This

| 96 Subaru Outback--antifreeze on ground | 07 Jun 2005 20:37 GMT | 3 |
I thought it was the upper radiator hose, but there are no leaks from there. When the 96 Subaru Outback (178K miles) sits for several hours I find antifreeze/coolant on the ground, below the engine towards the pax side. Water pump? Can I still drive it to a mechanic? How far?

| Have any of you seen a brake proportioning valve fail? | 07 Jun 2005 16:41 GMT | 12 |
I was asked to look at a problem that I find a bit confusing. The guy has a 92 Chrysler Lebaron. Several months ago he noticed a tendency for one of the front calipers to "lock up" after the brakes were applied. Apparently it was so bad that the wheel would start smoking

| Burning Lean = more heat? | 07 Jun 2005 15:24 GMT | 26 |
I understand why burning rich reduces combustion temperatures. I don't understand why burning lean increases combustion temps. Web and usenet google searches haven't turned up much, and there is a lot of contradictory theories.
